Messi to arrive in Kolkata on Tuesday

Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano will arrive in Kolkata on Tuesday for the friendly football match between Argentina and Venezuela.

While the Argentina squad will reach Kolkata on Monday, Messi and Mascherano will join them a day later after playing their Spanish League match against Villarreal on Monday night.

The Venezuela team, too, will be arriving on Monday.

Celebrity Management Group said 42,000 tickets have been sold for the marquee international friendly, which will be played at the Salt Lake Stadium - which has a capacity of 1,25,000 - on September 2.

At the look of it, the ticket sales may appear to be a bit lukewarm but the organisers are leaving no stone unturned to avoid any slip up as it was witnessed when Diego Maradona sent the city into frenzy about three years ago.
