Iraq down Kuwait in Asian Olympic qualifier
Iraq beat Kuwait 2-1 in Asian Olympic qualification Group C match at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jordan on Wednesday.

Iraq moved to the top of the Asian Olympic qualification Group C when they beat Kuwait 2-1 at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jordan on Wednesday.
Kuwait gained the upper hand over their Group C rivals in the fifth minute after Haider Hassan brought down Fahad Al Hamad in the Iraq penalty area.
Bader Al Mutawa made no mistake from the penalty spot and took a 1-0 lead over Iraq.
But Kuwait's lead lasted for just one minute as Howar Taher scored an equalizer.
It was in the in the 82nd minute that Howar Taher cleverly volleyed Bassim Kati's throw-in over Kuwait's generous defence, who allowed Younes Khalaf plenty of time to control the ball and tap it past Kankone.
Iraq held on to win 2-1 to move to the top of the Group C standings. (AP)
