New Delhi:

On a month-long training tour of Barcelona, the Indian footballers had the opportunity to come up, close and personal with one of world football's most coveted trophies - the UEFA Champions League.

For the 27 players, who visited the iconic Camp Nou, the home of FC Barcelona, on Tuesday, most attention was reserved for the three trophies which Barca won this season - UEFA Champions League Trophy, La Liga winners' trophy and Copa Del Rey Cup.

The cameras started clicking as soon as the players entered the Camp Nou museum where the trophies were on display.

The Indian footballers were taken by a guide to the players' changing rooms, press room and the pitch where the turf is currently being relaid.

Coach Bob Houghton, who was interviewed by Barca TV on Monday, was all praise for the training facilities.

"We are in Barcelona preparing for the Asian Cup. We love being here because Barca have such excellent training facilities," he said.

Houghton chipped in with something of his humorous side saying FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi has lots of admirers in the Indian team as they are mostly short like the
Argentine.

"There are a lot of Barca supporters in this team.

Because they aren't all that tall, the player they most identify with is Messi," he was quoted as saying by official FC Barcelona website.

Meanwhile, the Indian team will play their third friendly game on August 1 against Spanish third division side Sant Boia FC, according to the FC Barcelona website.

The first two friendlies will be against Spanish third division sides Unio Esportiva Castelldefels and Associacio Esportiva El Prat on July 25 and 29.
