Porto: Greek fans celebrated in the streets of Porto, after their national team upset the Czech Republic in the Portuguese city in the semi-finals of Euro 2004 on Thursday evening. Porto became a sea of blue and white, as jubilant Greeks prepared to party the night away. After Greece and the much-favoured Czech Republic were level at 0-0 after full time, Greece's Traianos Dellas popped up in extra time to score the winning goal and send his team into the final of Euro 2004, where they will face host nation Portugal. Sea of blue The goal also set off a series of colourful celebrations next to the Douro river in Porto. There, Greek fans had made the area seem like a little piece of Athens, with hundreds of flags and football shirts. Following the final whistle, the jubilant Greeks sang and waved their flags in celebration. For some, the moment was almost too much to take in. "Unbelievable moments, pleasure. What can I tell? For us it is the first time here and we are celebrating. For the final, the best team can win. And maybe Greece is better than Portugal. I'm sorry, I don't know that," said a Greek fan. Greek fans were appearing from everywhere, as the country's football supporters congregated next to the Douro river. aCos we are Greecea "This is Greece, here. We've made it Greece. There could be a repeat of the celebrations on Sunday evening, if Greece can upset the form book, yet again, and beat host nation Portugal in the final of Euro 2004 in Lisbon. The Greeks have already proved that that is possible, having beaten the hosts in the opening game of the tournament.
