When it comes to major sporting events, nothing captures it better than a Google doodle. With the Euro 2016 starting in France on Friday night, the search engine has come up with a wonderful doodle that has captured the essence of the tournament.
The doodle has given all the information in one graphic. The L of Google is shaped like the Eiffel Tower and it shows off its footballing skills. It also has 24 flags, with 16 flags on the left and eight on the right. This is the first time in the history of the tournament that 24 teams will be participating.
Euro 2016 will be played in France from June 10, with the final on July 10. The venues for the tournament will be Paris, Lille, Lyon, Saint-Denis, Nice, Toulouse, Saint-Etienne, Marseille, Bordeaux and Lens. Â
France, the hosts, will kick-start the tournament against Romania on Friday, June 10. Spain, the defending Euro champions, will play on June 13 against Czech Republic. Germany and Spain have won this tournament the most number of times, with three wins each.
