Stockholm:

Former Arsenal and Celtic midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has signed for Japanese club S-Pulse, the 34-year-old told local media on Saturday.

"I've signed for this season and the one after," the Sweden star said.

"I hope to make my debut in two weeks," he added in the interview with Swedish paper Aftonbladet.

After a nine year spell with Arsenal, Ljungberg, who has 75 international caps to his name, switched to West Ham for one season before an 18 month spell in the MLS with Seattle.

In December, 2010, he had a brief seven match stint with Scottish giants Celtic before departing as a free agent.
