Fiorentina agrees Josip Ilicic move with Palermo

Ilicic has been linked with a move to Fiorentina since Palermo's relegation at the end of last season. Liverpool and AC Milan were also interested in the 25-year-old playmaker.

Florence, Italy:

Fiorentina has reached an agreement with Palermo to sign Slovenia international Josip Ilicic.

The Tuscan club announced the news on Tuesday, although the deal is subject to a medical, which will take place within the next 24 hours.

Ilicic has been linked with a move to Fiorentina since Palermo's relegation at the end of last season. Liverpool and AC Milan were also interested in the 25-year-old playmaker.

Fiorentina has paid a reported 9 million euros ($12 million) plus bonuses for Ilicic, who scored 11 goals in 32 matches for Palermo last season.
