FC Cochin ground HASC in NFL league

A spirited FC Cochin sucessfully clung on to their first half solitary goal to defeat debutant Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HASC) 1-0 in a National Football league match here today. With this win, FC Cochin increased their points tally to eight from six encounters. Cochin's striker, Shaji made no mistake in driving into the nets off a pass from Mohammed in the 21st minute and gave his team a 1-0 lead at the lemon break. HASC, who had lost to Punjan Police earlier, put all their might to find an equaliser in the second half but in vain. HASC miffed at least a couple of chances when Sunil shot over the bar in the 6th minute and Parameshwaran fumbled on another golden chance during the fag end of the game. HASC now have 11 points in their kitty from seven matches. (PTI)
