Lyon:

Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien is definitely staying at Lyon and will not be going to Chelsea, the French club's president said on Tuesday. "England has the (2012) Olympics but Chelsea will not get Michael Essien,'' Jean-Michel Aulas said on the club's website. "Michael Essien is and remains Lyonnais. The affair is finished.'' Aulas said he would be meeting Essien and his agent to discuss a new contract. He said Essien has a bright future and that Lyon "is better with him than without him.'' "In my dream, I see him scoring with a header in the Champions League final at the Stade de France against Chelsea,'' Aulas said. Essien, 22, has been at the center of protracted transfer negotiations between Lyon and Chelsea, the Premier League champion owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Lyon had reportedly been seeking $55.74 million for Essien. (AP)
