Espanyol has brought back veteran Uruguayan striker Walter Pandiani for a second stint with the topflight Spanish club.
Espanyol announced on late Thursday that the 35-year-old Pandiani has signed a one-year contract.
Pandiani will help to replace striker Pablo Osvaldo, who recently left for Roma.
Pandiani played for Espanyol from 2005-07, helping it to the UEFA Cup final in his second season. He has also played for Deportivo La Coruna, Mallorca, English club Birmingham City and, most recently, Osasuna.
Pandiani joins midfielder Christian "Romaric" Koffi, on loan from Sevilla, and forward Vladimir Weiss, on loan from Manchester City, as Espanyol's last-minute reinforcements from the summer transfer market.
