Bayern Munich are reported to have made German league rivals Schalke 04 a bid of at least 21 million euros ($30 million) for star goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, according to daily newspaper Bild on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old national shot-stopper has already told the Royal Blues he will not extend his contract which expires at the end of next season and Bayern have made no secret of their desire to sign him before next season.
"Yes, we had a decent conversation," Schalke director Horst Heldt told Bild when asked about the improved deal.
According to Bild, Bayern have offered Schalke 18 million euros for Neuer, plus up to seven million worth of performance-related bonuses of which at least three million are guaranteed, to come to the 21 million figure.
Bild claim the new bid improves the 18 million euros offer Bayern made for the Schalke star at a meeting in Duesseldorf on April 27.
