Radamel Falcao scored one goal and set up another to lead Atletico Madrid to a 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday in the Spanish league.

Radamel Falcao scored one goal and set up another to lead Atletico Madrid to a 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday in the Spanish league.

The Colombia striker played Gabi Fernandez through on the right side of the area and the midfielder chipped over oncoming goalkeeper David Cobeno in the 25th minute.

Rayo pressed for the equalizer but Falcao headed in Diego's cross in the 74th for his eighth league goal of the campaign.

Atletico's Eduardo Salvio capped the win in the Madrid derby with a third goal in added time before Gabi scored in his own net to give Rayo a consolation goal.

Atletico remain undefeated at Vicente Calderon stadium in eight league games this season to stay in the upper half of the table.
