Aston Villa have agreed to sign Liverpool's Czech striker Milan Baros.

Birmingham:

Aston Villa have agreed to sign Liverpool's Czech striker Milan Baros. Baros, top-scorer at last year's European Championship, will sign a four-year-contract Tuesday if he passes a medical exam. No financial details were disclosed, but British newspapers reported that Liverpool valued Baros at 6 million pounds. "We've reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign the player and the next step is for him to have a medical,'' Liverpool spokesman Steve Stride said. "Hopefully we can soon conclude the deal,'' he added. The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in December 2001, costing 3.6 million pounds from Banik Ostrava. He was Liverpool's joint top scorer last season with 13 goals, but his place in the team was under threat from Fernando Morientes, Djibril Cisse and offseason signing Peter Crouch. (AP)
