Kuwait city:
Kuwait's Al Arabi drew 2-2 with Iranian side Sepahan in an Asian Champions League encounter.
With four points from two games, Sepahan are now in second place in Group D behind Al Itihad, who have maximum points. Al Arabi are third in the group with one point.
Iranian side Sepahan thrashed Neftchi Farg'ona 4-0 in the opening match of their campaign, and were favourites coming into the game against Al Arabi, who had lost their opener 2-0 to Al Ittihad.
It was no surprise, then, to see Sepahan go ahead in the 17th minute.
Rasail Pakikhatibi stayed calm when Abdullah Ashour rather rashly came off his line, rounding the keeper before firing past Ahmad Alnajjar on the line. The home side drew level midway through the second half.
Saud Alajmi's cross was headed back into the path of Malek Alqallar, and from just a few yards out he made no mistake.
Sepahan regained the lead with 11 minutes remaining.
Sepahan were to be stunned again, however, as a stunning freekick from all of 40 yards from Firas Al Khatib drew Al Arabi level once again. (AP)
