AC Milan says it has extended the contract of coach Massimiliano Allegri for two years through June 2014.

AC Milan says it has extended the contract of coach Massimiliano Allegri for two years through June 2014.
The 44-year-old, who joined Milan from Cagliari in 2010, said Friday he was glad "to have the opportunity to work for Milan for another two years."
Milan won the Serie A during Allegri's first season in charge, currently is tied for first with Juventus and has advanced to a second-round matchup with Arsenal in the Champions League.
The contract extension was announced two days before Sunday's high-profile derby against Inter Milan.
