Germany showed off their Euro 2016 title credentials with a clinical 3-0 win over Slovakia in the last 16 clash. Jerome Boateng opened the scoring in the eighth minute, Mario Gomez doubled his team's lead in the 43rd minute while Julian Draxler netted in the 63rd minute to put the Germans into last 8 where they will take on the winner between Spain and Italy. Joachim Loew's side progressed to the Round of 16 as table-toppers (Group C), beating Ukraine and Northern Ireland, drawing with Poland and are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
On the other hand, this is the second time that Slovakia have reached the knockout stages of a major tournament after they reached the Round of 16 of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Germany will certainly not take the Slovak side lightly after the latter stunned the world champions 3-1 in a friendly encounter in Augsburg.
