Larsen (seen in the picture at the back) provided the offensive spark in a defense dominated team. He went on to score three goals at Euro 92, including both goals in the crucial 2-2 semi-final draw against the Netherlands. He also converted his kick in the ensuing penalty shootout, and played full time when he and the Danish national team won the final against Germany.
Also a part of the Denmark Euro squad in 1996, he played his last national game during the tournament. His 39 matches for the national side yielded 5 goals in all.
Following his retirement from professional football in 1999, he became assistant coach with the last club he played at, FC Copenhagen. Later he coached Ølstykke FC, Faroe Islands national team among others. His last assignment was at Danish club Randers FC as assistant manager.
