Los Angeles:
Ireland captain and LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane offered condolences Sunday to the family of Irish football fan James Nolan, who died in Poland after an apparent accidental drowning during Euro 2012.
Keane, back with his club after Ireland's elimination from Euro 2012, raised a Galaxy jersey that read "RIP James Nolan" on the back after scoring in the club's 3-0 Major League Soccer victory over Vancouver on Saturday.
"It was just a gesture because the Irish people are very close and they stick with each other through good times and bad times. He was a big, big soccer fan and it was a shame, so it was just a show of respect really," Keane said.
