Liverpool will miss the services of their French defender Mamadou Sakho for a period between six and eight weeks after the footballer sustained an injury to his right knee during Sunday's 1-2 defeat against Crystal Palace.
The 25-year-old did not complete the match against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League (EPL), while his club feared at first that he had suffered a ligament injury to his knee which could have sidelined the player for more than six months, reports Efe.
"I would rather lose 1-4 and keep him in the team," Liverpool's German coach Jurgen Klopp said after the Crystal Palace match, in reference to Sakho's injury.
Sakho joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2013 for about 25 million euros ($26.8 million).
