Tour de France to Start From Germany in 2017
It will only be the fourth time in the Tour de France's century-old history that the cycling race starts in Germany.

The 2017 Tour de France will start from the German city of Duesseldorf. (Chris Froome Wins Second Tour de France)
It will be the fourth time in the race's century-old history that cycling's showpiece event starts in Germany and the 22nd time in total that the 'Grand Depart' will take place outside of France. (Police Fire On Vehicle Near Tour De France Finish in Paris)

The last time the three-week race started from Germany was in 1987, when the 'Grand Depart' took place in West Berlin.
Next year (2016) the Tour will start from Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy.
