Harare:
Senior Zimbabwe Test cricketers are slated to meet today to discuss the effective sacking of their captain Heath Streak last weekend.
Zimbabwe Cricket Union chief executive Vincent Hogg, who has tried to defuse the situation during two days of talks with Streak, will join the players together with ZCU board member Ossias Bvute in the crisis meeting.
The meeting's location in Harare is being kept secret and Hogg will only be told where it is a few minutes before it starts.
About 10 of the contracted players are expected to attend.
It was Streak's demand for changes to the national team selection panel that triggered the crisis. He wanted the removal of two blacks who had not played first class cricket, as well as a TV commentator of Asian origin. This has prompted allegations of racism against him.
The ZCU board accepted his resignation after receiving his letter. But Heath's father Dennis, said in a statement that his son didn't resign at all and legal advice is being sought. (PTI)
