World Cup organising committee to meet on Tuesday

Mumbai:

International Cricket Council (ICC) President-elect Sharad Pawar will chair the meeting of the Central Organising Committee of the 2011 Cricket World Cup to be held at the BCCI headquarters on Tuesday.

International Cricket Council's Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat will address the media afterwards along with Pawar and Tournament Director Prof Ratnakar Shetty, the ICC said in a media release on Monday.

The COC also consists of representatives from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh who are co-hosts of the tournament.

ICC has scheduled the commencement of its on-line ticketing process for cricket's show piece event, scheduled from February 19-April 2, from Tuesday at 1 pm.

The ICC has put up on its website terms and conditions for all prospective ticket buyers on its official website.

Among the conditions is a waiver and indemnity clause that the purchaser of the ticket is moving in and around the match venues at his or her own risk.

The clause indemnifies the ICC, its commercial arm ICC Development (International) Limited and others like the authorised ticketing agents from any damage and or harm, including bodily or mental, sustained by the ticket holder to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Ticket holders are banned from indulging in any form of ambush marketing and from conducting any activity "that conflicts with, impairs, infringes or denigrates the rights of any commercial partner," as per the terms and conditions.

They cannot display/carry banners, placards, leaflets, signs or other materials, items and objects or wear clothing displaying political, religious, offensive or race-related messages, slogans or images or promotional or commercial identification or messages in breach of the ambush marketing
conditions.

Genuine ticket holders can be refused entry or thrown out of the venue for wearing or displaying commercial, political or offensive signage or logos and for public nudity or indecency.

They can also be punished for creating excessive noise or for any interference with the conduct of the match, defacing or obscuring any notice, advertisement, branding or signage and for smoking in any area where smoking is not permitted.

They are also barred from engaging in any racist conduct against player, umpire, referee, authorised person or other spectators, as per the terms and conditions.
