Yet to register a win on the tour, New Zealand opener Tom Latham said the visitors need to "correct a few wrongs" in the remaining four ODIs of the series to end the sojourn on a high.
After a 0-3 rout in the Test series, New Zealand's misery continued as India defeated the visitors by six wickets in the first ODI on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
"We haven't got the results we wanted so far. But there are still four massive games to come. Hopefully we can correct a few wrongs and put a good performance on the board," said Latham, who became the 10th batsman to carry his bat through an ODI innings.
Latham (79*) and Tim Southee (55), stitched quickfire 71 runs off just 58 balls for the ninth wicket to help Kiwi post 190 on the board and give their bowlers something to bowl.
But India hardly had any problems in overwhelming the target with vice-captain Virat Kohli again showing his supreme command in the 50-over format.
If debutant all-rounder Hardik Pandya (3/31) stole the limelight in the bowling department, it was another flawless effort from 'Chase Master' Kohli, whose 85-run knock came off 81 balls.
He struck nine fours before effortlessly lofting Ish Sodhi for his only six to finish the match in style.
