New Delhi:
The leaked video footage of Pakistan Cricket Board's investigations showed Afridi questioning the commitment of some of his teammates, even though he said all the talks about match-fixing is something he too has heard but never found any evidence of.
"A couple of players performed while batting but considered their work done once they were out. They would mingle with the crowd, sign autographs at the boundary line and talk to girls. Those players played for themselves, not the team," said Afridi, who was part of the team that lost five ODIs in Australia.
He was also critical of the then coach Intikhab Alam. "In Australia I was told 40 minutes before the match that I would be captain. Then when I was just about to go for the toss, coach Intikhab Alam, said we must win the toss because if we bat second we will lose. That's when I stopped him & asked him not to lower the morale of the players. That was the level of negativity in the team," Afridi added.
Afridi also said, "If you look at any of our matches against, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand or Australia we weren't beaten. We gave the matches away to the opponents".
