Mumbai:
Sachin Tendulkar has pulled out of the Irani Cup tie against Ranji Trophy champions Delhi due to stiffness in his elbow but the maestro will be available for the Australia series, according to the board officials.
"Sachin will not be playing in the Irani Trophy on the advice of the physiotherapist of the India team so that he could give another week's rest. But he will be available for the Australia series," said Cricket Board secretary Niranjan Shah when queried on the issue.
Tamil Nadu's S Badrinath has replaced Sachin in the Rest of India team for the Irani Cup tie to be held at Vadodara later this month.
"Badrinath is to replace Tendulkar," Shah said.
Tendulkar suffered the elbow injury during the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at Colombo in August and has not played any competitive cricket since then.
He was selected to represent Rest of India to be led by Anil Kumble in the Irani tie, which is scheduled to held from September 24 to 28.
