Karachi:

The Hockey Champions Trophy might have been moved out of Pakistan because of security concerns but South Africa's tour of the country is going ahead.

The Proteas arrived in Karachi to play in two tests and five one dayers. This is the first time in 10 years that South Africa will play in Karachi.

The venue was struck off the last tour in 2003 because of security reasons.

South African captain Graeme Smith said he is prepared for a tough series against the runners up in the 20-20 World Cup.

"Oh, I think right now, I am still trying to get over jet-lag, so I don't know if I want to throw some predictions out there, but one thing I can predict, it's going to be a really tough series.

"I think there will be some really good cricket played in the two test matches and the Pakistan people who turn out will be able to see some real quality cricket. I know certainly that we as a team are going to be providing that and I am sure it will be a hard-fought battle between us and Pakistan," said Graeme Smith.

He said they have to be prepared to be confined to the hotel because of the heavy security.
