Jordan Matthew Cox Profile

Jordan Cox is an English wicketkeeper-batter who has made a strong name for himself on the global T20 circuit, becoming one of the more in-demand players in franchise cricket. A graduate of the Kent academy, Cox rose steadily through the ranks and announced himself with an impressive double century for Kent in the Bob Willis Trophy in 2020.

Jordan played a key role in Kent's T20 Blast title win in 2021, and after impressing in The Hundred for Oval Invincibles, he earned a call-up to England's T20I squad for the tour of Pakistan in 2022, although he did not feature in a game during that series. Cox made a move to Essex in 2024, where he piled up a truckload of runs in the County Championship. He also won his second Hundred title with Oval Invincibles, and his consistent performances in white-ball cricket earned him debuts in both ODIs and T20Is later that year.

Cox seemed poised for a Test debut when England toured New Zealand in late 2024, but a fractured right thumb during a nets session ruled him out of the series before it began. Misfortune struck again the following year. With a Test debut looming against Zimbabwe, Cox suffered an abdominal muscle injury while batting in the County Championship, further delaying his maiden appearance in the longest format.

The wicketkeeper-batter recovered in time for the 2025 edition of The Hundred and produced his best season with the bat up until then, helping Oval Invincibles clinch their third consecutive title. His performances were recognised when he was named the PCA Player of the Year in England in 2025.

Cox was later appointed captain of the England Lions for the T20 series against Pakistan Shaheens in the UAE the following year. His white-ball exploits also earned him an IPL opportunity, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru securing his services at the auction for the 2026 season.
