The series goes the home side's way as the Aussies are 3-1 up in the 5-match series. The last match of the series, in Sydney, will be a dead rubber on Sunday. South Africa would like to win the last game and go home with a 2-3 scoreline rather than 1-4 scoreline.

George Bailey says that Wade and Smith played brilliant innings to steer them home. He also adds that Faulkner is earning a reputation of a finisher. He says that his bowlers did well to restrict the Proteas under 300. He also says that it was a tough series and they have fought hard to be the winners.

AB de Villiers says that he was disappointed with the batting in the death overs and praises Smith for his outstanding innings. He adds that his boys fought well and was not unhappy with today's performance. He congratulates the Australian team for the win.

Man of the match goes to Steve Smith. He says that he wanted to be there till the end but could not manage to do so. He said the ball was coming onto the bat well and that he build his innings well. He adds that partnership with Wade and Faulkner was crucial!

Smith, the savior! After losing half their side below 100, Smith and Wade came together and reconstructed the Aussie innings. They put up 121 runs together. Wade fell after making a half century but the Aussie Superman went on to make his second ODI hundred. James Faulkner added the finishing touch by playing a swashbuckling cameo towards the end. He scored 34 off 19 balls to steer his team home. With this, the home side have clinched the series. To go deeper in stats, they have beaten South Africa for the first time at the MCG and have clinched a 5-match series for the first time against the Proteas.
