run out (Virat Kohli / Yuzvendra Chahal)
4 OUT! RUN OUT! A massive wicket for Bangalore as they have got the danger man, the Mumbai skipper, Rohit Sharma. Lynn, who has had a very nervy start, has made it even more difficult for himself. Getting your skipper, who was looking in decent touch run out in your debut outing for a new side is a big no-no. A poor mix-up and Rohit Sharma has to make the walk back. Flatter on off, Lynn punches it to the right of short cover. He calls for a run but then as soon as he sees it is Kohli, he says no. Too late though as Rohit is well down the track. Kohli sends the throw to Chahal who does the easy work. Rohit is well short and there is no need for replays. A big boost for Bangalore they are not complaining. Rohit is visibly disappointed and must be fuming. 24/1

Chris Lynn | 49 | 35 | 4 | 3 | 140 |
c & b Washington Sundar
12.5 OUT! CAUGHT! Brilliant catch from Washington Sundar! Lynn departs on 49! A very good knock from Lynn but he will not get a fifty in his debut game for Mumbai. Washington Sundar strikes in his very first over and it is the end of Lynnsanity. It needed an athletic catch from Wahington Sundar and the man from Tamil Nadu has the athleticism to send the Australian back to the dug out. Slightly shorter on middle, Lynn looks to flat-bat it straight over the bowler's end. This time he does not get enough on it as the ball is a fraction too close to him. He chips it behind mid on. Washington Sundar runs behind, not as easy it looks. He stretches to maximum and manages to take a very good catch. A big and much-needed wicket for Bangalore. A debut that started off poorly for Lynn ends in a very good knock. A very good recovery from the Australian. 105/3

Suryakumar Yadav | 31 | 23 | 4 | 1 | 134.78 |
c AB de Villiers b Kyle Jamieson
11 OUT! CAUGHT! Jamieson gets his first wicket in the league! The New Zealander has so far been the best bowler for Bangalore and he now has a wicket to show for it. Good comeback from the tall Kiwi. After being hit for a six he has come back very strongly to win the war against Suryakumar Yadav. Jamieson hits the deck hard and bowls it back of a length outside off. Suryakumar Yadav looks to slash it through the off side but Jamieson generates extra bounce due to his height. Tha bounce sees the ball catch the edge and go straight into the mitts of AB de Villiers. End of a very impressive knock from Suryakumar Yadav. He though would have liked to convert it into a big one. 94/2

Ishan Kishan Wk | 28 | 19 | 2 | 1 | 147.36 |
lbw b Harshal Patel
17.4 OUT! LBW! All reds it is and this looked plumb to the naked eye! Terrific bowling from Harshal Patel. Yorker on middle and leg, Kishan fails to dig it out and gets hit on the pads. There is an appeal for LBW but the umpire says no. Harshal Patel is convinced that he has got his man and convinces Kohli to take the review. The Ultra Edge rolls in and it shows nothing while the Ball Tracker shows that all reds. 145/5
|
|||||
Hardik Pandya | 13 | 10 | 2 | 0 | 130 |
lbw b Harshal Patel
16 OUT! LBW! All reds it is and Pandya has to go! Pandya misses out on a low full toss and he pays the price. Bangalore would be happy to see the back of Pandya as he can be very dangerous in the latter half of the innings. Harshal bowls a low full toss on middle, Pandya looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. Bangalore appeal and up goes the finger. Pandya takes the review. The Ultra Edge shows nothing while the Ball Tracker shows that all reds. Hardik Pandya has to go and he takes the review along with him. 135/4
|
|||||
Kieron Pollard | 7 | 9 | 1 | 0 | 77.77 |
c Washington Sundar b Harshal Patel
19.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Another one bites the dust! Harshal Patel is doing a wonderful job here for Bangalore. Another slower ball around off, Pollard looks to go big but is early into the shot and mistimes it. Sundar gets into position at deep mid-wicket and takes a comfortable catch. 158/7
|
|||||
Krunal Pandya | 7 | 7 | 1 | 0 | 100 |
c Dan Christian b Harshal Patel
19.1 OUT! CAUGHT AT DEEP MID-WICKET! Good catch in the deep and Harshal Patel continues to impress! Slower ball around middle and leg, Pandya looks to go over deep mid-wicket but fails to get the timing right. It goes towards deep mid-wicket where Christian takes a comfortable catch. This has been a good performance at the death by Bangalore. 158/6
|
|||||
Marco Jansen | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Harshal Patel
19.4 OUT! TIMBER! 5-fer for Harshal Patel! Tremendous performance from Patel! Wow, what a performance from the young man! Yorker on off, Jansen has no answers to this one as he fails to dig it out. And the ball rattles the timber behind. 158/8

run out (Virat Kohli / AB de Villiers)
20 OUT! RUN OUT! What an end to the innings for Bangalore! They have come back really well. Full ball on middle, Bumrah works it down to long on. Chahar wants a couple but Bumrah is not interested. Kohli throws the ball to AB de Villiers who does the rest. MUMBAI END ON 159 F0R 9. 159/9

c Chris Lynn b Krunal Pandya
4.2 OUT! CAUGHT AT SHORT THIRD MAN! Sundar was struggling at the crease. He was trying to hit the ball too hard and he perishes in the process. Shortish ball around off, Sundar looks to pull but the ball comes quicker to him. It takes the top edge and goes towards short third man where Chris Lynn takes the simplest of catches. 124 needed in 94 balls. 36/1

Virat Kohli C | 33 | 29 | 4 | 0 | 113.79 |
lbw b Jasprit Bumrah
12.3 OUT! LBW! Rohit Sharma brings back Jasprit Bumrah in order to bring a wicket and he provides it in the form of Kohli. He loves playing against the Bangalore skipper and he gets him again. Good length ball on middle, Kohli shuffles across and then looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. Bumrah appeals and up goes the finger. Kohli consults with Maxwell whether to take the review but decides against it. Can Mumbai make a comeback in this game? 98/3
|
|||||
Rajat Patidar | 8 | 8 | 1 | 0 | 100 |
b Trent Boult
5.5 OUT! CHOPPED ON! Boult strikes in Powerplay once again. A sight way too common in world cricket. He continues his habit of picking up wickets in the first 6 overs of a T20 game. Rajat Patidar, looked promising in his short stay at the crease but unfortunately, it is a short stay. Knuckle ball bowled on a length outside off. Patidar looks to defend it with a horizontal bat to the off side. It is too close to him and there is a lack of pace as well. The ball takes the inside edge to uproot the off stump. Mumbai are not out of this game at all. They have a knack for stealing wins from the jaws of defeat and Bangalore have the bad habit of throwing away games. 46/2
|
|||||
Glenn Maxwell | 39 | 28 | 3 | 2 | 139.28 |
c Chris Lynn b Marco Jansen
14.1 OUT! CAUGHT AT SHORT FINE LEG! Maxwell goes and Mumbai are back in it big time! They got Kohli couple of overs back and now have got Maxwell. Marco Jansen gets his first wicket in the Indian T20 League. Short ball around the pads, Maxwell swivels and looks to pull but does not get the timing on it. Lynn dives forward and takes a very good catch. 103/4
|

AB de Villiers Wk | 48 | 27 | 4 | 2 | 177.77 |
run out (Krunal Pandya / Ishan Kishan)
19.4 OUT! RUN OUT! AB de Villiers is short of his crease. The run around from one side to another has seen AB eat some time and that fraction of seconds has seen him depart here. Length ball on off, AB de Villiers hits it away from Krunal and long on. He takes the run and then does a whole circle to come for the second. Krunal sends a decent throw at the keeper's end. Ishan Kishan takes a brilliant take and quickly disturbs the stumps. AB de Villiers puts a dive but it is not good enough. He is short of his crease, he knows it, Ishan knows and the replays confirm it. 2 needed off 2 balls. Super Over anyone? 158/8
|
|||||
Shahbaz Ahmed | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 50 |
c Krunal Pandya b Marco Jansen
15 OUT! CAUGHT! What an over this has been! Two wickets and not many runs from it! Short ball around middle, Ahmed pulls it but has it got the distance on it? No, it has not as it goes straight into the hands of Krunal Pandya at deep square leg. 54 needed in 30 balls. A lot depends on AB de Villiers now. 106/5
|
|||||
Dan Christian | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 33.33 |
c Rahul Chahar b Jasprit Bumrah
16.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Dan Christian departs and Bumrah does what he does best. Come, give his skipper, the vital breakthroughs, and win the clutch situations. This was not Bumrah's best delivery. In fact it was a ball to be put away. Short and wide outside off. Generally, an Aussie will smack it to the fence. Christian cuts it with power but finds Rahul Chahar to perfection at backward point. A few inches either side of the fielder and that would have been a boundary. 122/6
|
|||||
Kyle Jamieson | 4 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 100 |
run out (Jasprit Bumrah)
18.5 OUT! RUN OUT! Very good work from Bumrah! Low full toss on off, Jamieson hits it straight back towards Bumrah. He gets his right leg to it. The ball goes behind but not too far. AB de Viliiers calls for a run. Jamieson keeps his head down and goes for it. Bumrah quickly gets to the ball and scores an underarm direct hit at the stumps. Was this single needed? This is the last ball off the over. Maybe de Villiers was better staying at the other end and taking on the final over. This game is still in the balance. First game of the tournament and we might be running out of nails already. 152/7
