AB de Villiers, the South African ODI captain is adjudged Man of the Match. Do join us back for the second ODI from Jo'burg on 18th January 1330 IST, until then it's goodbye from us!
South Africa win this easily. They first posted a good total and then bowled well to not let the Windies run away with the game. Chris Gayle started off in his trademark style but once he departed things started falling apart for the visitors. With the middle order back in, it was just a matter of time before the Proteas attack of Steyn, Philander, Tahir who all took three wickets each and wrapped up the innings.
OUT! GAME, SET, MATCH! On a length swinging away from Taylor, he tries pushing at it but gets a faint edge to the keeper who picks his fourth catch of the night to go with a stumping as well. With this wicket South Africa win the match by 61 runs(D/L method) and go up 1-0 in the series.
Sulieman Benn is in next.
OUT! NINE DOWN! On a length outside off, Holder tries heaving it but gets it up in the air towards point where Miller runs back and takes a good catch. South Africa are one wicket shy of a win.
Steyn to bowl.
Bouncer! The batsman does well to evade it.
Short of a length, Taylor top edges it over the keeper for a couple.
Short outside off, the batsman has attempted to put bat on ball but fails.
OUCH! Bouncer from Morkel, the batsman has been hit on the glove.
