That's it from this game! Yet another upset in this tournament. There is another game which follows on the 24th and that is a clash between Bangladesh and South Africa. That game begins at 1400 IST (0830 GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care.
Hashmatullah Shahidi says this is a special win and the way they chased was very good. Adds he's looking forward to the other games and hopes they can do well again. States they will try their best to play positive cricket and do well for their country. Mentions the spinners were really good, credits Noor for the way he bowled and the batters continued the good work.
Babar Azam admits they are not doing well, they're trying to do well and hope to better in the next game. States they did not hit the right lines and lengths and they bowled far too many bad balls.
Ibrahim Zadran, Man of the Match, says he wanted to bat with positivity and he did so. States he loves playing with Gurbaz and they know each other well and they needed to get off to a good start.
Presentations coming up...
Pakistan on the other hand, have yet again been let down by their bowling. They just couldn't hit the right lines and lengths. Their bowlers were inconsistent and were extremely poor throughout. Despite the wicket not being easy, Afghanistan managed to score this quite easily. Pakistan will be very disappointed with themselves.
Chasing what we thought was an above par score, the openers got them off to a flier. Gurbaz and Ibrahim added over 100 with both scoring fifties. Gurbaz fell but Ibrahim continued. He forged another stand with Shah who also batted beautifully. Ibrahim fell but Shahid batted with a lot of responsibility. Both played right till the end and took their side over the line for an outstanding win.
History has been created! This is the very first time Afghanistan has beaten Pakistan in ODIs and what a time to do so. At the grandest stage of all, the World Cup. Also, yet another win which opens the table completely now. However, Pakistan now have lost three in a row. Afghanistan on the other hand, are giant killers at the moment. They beat England first and now Pakistan.
