Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. Delhi have leap-frogged Mumbai in the points table and they will be eager to perform in front of their home fans as we head into Delhi leg soon. The action in the Women's T20 League will continue on 4th March, when Bangalore will be taking on UP for the last game in this Bangalore leg. The first ball will be bowled at 7.30 pm IST. (2 pm GMT) but you can join us a lot earlier for the build-up. Till then, take care, and cheers!
Jess Jonassen wins the Player of the Match award. She says that fortunately enough, she has come up with the players a lot in the nets of whom she took wickets of and is happy that the bowling group came together. Goes on to praise Radha Yadav for the way she bowled. Mentions that Meg Lanning knows her very well and tosses the ball to her at any point and she prides herself on being able to deliver when asked. Ends by saying that you get value for shots and as a bowler, you need to find an ideal pace as it differs a bit every now and then.
Meg Lanning, the captain of Delhi says that they fell short by 25 runs but coming into defending the total, the bowlers did their job pretty well inside the Powerplay to put Gujarat under the pump. Adds she was a bit frustrated in the first 30 runs. Says they lost a few wickets quickly but finished nicely on that score. Lauds Titas Sadhu for her magnificent bowling and mentions she bowled beautifully in her debut game. Says Shikha Pandey too bowled well and says when the ball's swinging, it helps their bowlers. Goes on to appreciate Jess Jonassen and adds that it's important to keep winning the games. Says they are heading off to New Delhi and are excited to play in front of the home crowd. Says it's a quick turnaround but it's good sometimes to not think too much about the game. Ends up by saying that Mumbai is a quality side and can't wait to face them again.
The Presentation Ceremony...
Radha Yadav wins the Purple Cap. She informs that it was necessary to bowl into the wicket and that is what the spinners aimed to do. States that the pitch was not so easy to bat and they had a feeling that they will be able to restrict them with the pitch slowing down. Hopes that a similar kind of crowd turns up in Delhi as well.
Beth Mooney, the captain of Gujarat is in for a chat. She says that it is disappointing and it just hasn't worked in their way this season. Says their bowling has been pretty good but the fielding has let them down and were not up to the standards. Further adds that getting off to a good start is crucial and Delhi bowlers were good enough with their lines and lengths. Ends up by saying a responsible contribution is needed from the batters up top including her.
Delhi were incredible with the ball in hand. They never even allowed the Gujarat batters to settle in. There were 25 dot balls inside the 7 overs and that was certainly reflected on their score as well for Gujarat who were teetering at 47/3 at that point. Delhi were on the money with the ball, and they move up to the top of the table. Much deserved as well. Titas Sadhu and Shikha Pandey set the tone of their innings with some incredible start with the new ball. Later on, the spinners came in and worked their magic. Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav picked up three wickets each. The latter becomes the Purple Cap holder as well. So, for now, everything is going in favour of Delhi and for the next fixture, they will have the backing of their home fans as well.
Gujarat had to chase down 164 runs, but they hardly turned up with the bat in hand. The first over of this run chase was a maiden over. Then three deliveries into the second over, Delhi struck by getting rid of Laura Wolvaardt with Gujarat yet to open their account. Beth Mooney, the captain tried to up the ante and stitched a decent stand alongside Phoebe Litchfield of 28 runs, but once this stand was broken, the other batter followed suit. Eventually, there was a phase when Gujarat kept losing wickets at regular intervals. There were plenty of starts but no one could really convert those good starts. Ashleigh Gardner played a valuable knock of 40 but kept losing partners, and when she fell, it was more like the final nail in the coffin.
Delhi are hard to stop at the moment. They suffered a defeat in their very first game, but since then they haven't really looked back. A solid outing once again for Delhi and they extend their winning run to three on the trot now. Gujarat, on the other hand, still hunting for their very first win of this campaign, were unable to get over the line despite the toss going in their favour.

Shikha Pandey To Meghna Singh
That's it! Gujarat lose their fourth game on the trot and Delhi go on the top of the table by beating Gujarat by 25 runs in a convincing fashion. Gujarat's woes in the batting seem endless as of now. An off-cutter on offer from Shikha on the leg stump line, Meghna Singh helps it to backward square leg for a single.

The Umpire gives out in no time on a confident appeal. Sayali Satghare is the new batter in.
