Morne Morkel took a career-best 5-21 and captain A.B. de Villiers made 48 as South Africa beat Australia by three wickets in the second one-day cricket international on Sunday to level the five-match series at 1-1. Catch all the highlights of the match here: (SCORECARD)

Handed the new ball ahead of Dale Steyn, Morkel took two wickets in his opening spell to plunge the Australian innings into early crisis, then snared three more in six balls in his second spell to help bowl out the home side for 154. Mitchell Marsh top-scored with 67.

South Africa surpassed Australia's total in 27.4 overs, though it struggled at times in the face of hostile bowling from Josh Hazlewood who was twice on a hat trick before finishing with 5-31.

After de Villiers, David Miller steered the Proteas home with an unbeaten 22.

Yes, it was a low scoring contest but it was far more exciting to watch than some of the one-sided games that are happening as we speak, at the moment. Australia fought it out right till the end, trying their best to defend 154. The next ODI is at the Manuka Over, in Canberra on Wednesday. The coverage here begins at 1420 local time, 0850 hours IST. Do join us and have a good Sunday. Till then, cheers and goodbye!

!

Morne Morkel has been named the Man of the Match for his 5/21 in the first innings. He says that it indeed is a good effort to bowl well against a quality team like Australia. He admits that there was a nervous moment as he padded up right at the end of the chase.

!

The script was not supposed to be easy for the Proteas as Bailey handed the ball to Johnson and Hazlewood who paired up and began hunting in pairs, successfully that too. Double strikes from Hazlewood put the South Africans on the back foot and the run-rate slowed down for a while. Another double-strike right at the end from Hazlewood gave him his maiden ODI five-fer. But, that wasn't enough as Steyn finished the game off. THE SERIES IS LEVELLED AT 1-1.

!

South Africa huffed and puffed on their way to 155. The chase did not begin all that well as both their openers fell cheaply. Rossouw came in and played a cameo but couldn't last any more. de Villiers and du Plessis joined forces again and the skipper took the attack to the Australians and seemed to be in a good position to finish the game easily.

OUT! A catch with a jump timed to perfection! Shortish delivery angled outside off stump, was there for the cut and de Kock went for the shot. The ball bounces a bit and takes a thick outside edge. The ball seemed destined to fly to the fence but Shane Watson, one of the laziest fielders in the Aussie side had other ideas. He leaps right up off his feet at the right moment and gets his hands up in the air. The ball sticks in his huge palms and it's a well completed catch.
