I thought 180-200 would be par score but we ended up getting 220 which was the icing on the cake. That's how you have to approach the game, it's about the attitude. Be in the present and try to execute. One of our players got injured unfortunately so you might see a few changes tomorrow."

Ishan Kishan, who scored 81 off 44 balls, has been named the Player of the Match!

After receiving the award, he said, "Obviously when you get runs for your team you end up getting a good total. I did not feel that the wicket was where you can just go and score runs. There was the odd bounce for few deliveries so we felt we needed partnerships. You don't have to think about wickets, past is past and just see what bowlers you can target. Very happy to see them, Mayank, Yash and Prince."

The ball misses the target, leaving Kishan in disbelief.

The UltraEdge replay revealed that Brian Bennett had edged the final ball of Mayank Yadav's over, which was collected by Ishan Kishan behind the stumps. India opted against taking a review, and they may now regret that decision.

Poor start from Mayank Yadav! The pacer is hit for a four and a six by Brian Bennett in the opening over. Zimbabwe's chase of 220 against India is underway in Harare.

19.3 - OUT! That is a really good catch from Ryan Burl at long-on! Rinku Singh is GONE! He hits the ball off the lower half of the bat and fails to clear the fielder stationed near the boundary. Burl takes the catch with a leap and manages to stay inside the rope.

Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh both hit a six each off Blessing Muzarabani in the penultimate over. India collect 14 runs from it, and that helps them get past the 200-run mark. The visitors still have six balls left in their innings.

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza tries to open with spin with he himself taking the responsibility to bowl the first over. He bowls it full around off and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi drives it towards mid-off for a single.

"I feel it (pitch) looks a bit different. It's not as tacky as it was in the first game. I feel the bounce will be consistent, and that's what I'm hoping. But let's see how it plays," said India captain Shreyas Iyer, who has lost his first toss in T20Is after winning eight in a row.

"We just passed on the message to all the boys that it's important to stay in the present and not be complacent because when you have such a comprehensive win, you tend to take things easily. I think it's essential for us to enjoy the moment as well as make sure that we play to the best of our abilities. There is a lot of potential in the dressing room and if they turn up today with a solid approach, then definitely the results will take care of themselves.

"We want to bowl first. First reason being the winter wicket as we know, it's slightly spicier at the start, so hopefully we can make early inroads and then see what comes in the batting order later on," said Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.

"The surface is certainly a lot better today than it was in the first game, so it may not be as spicy, but we know that in Harare, especially during winter, there will be a bit of spice at the start and hopefully our seamers can make inroads. If they do, it'll go a long way towards helping us stop them.

Zimbabwe would rue losing far too many wickets in the powerplay while not being able to handle the pace the Indian bowlers generated. From 26 for three, the hosts put on a modest 125 for seven which was never going to be challenging enough. There is no gap between the second and the final T20I, which will be played on Sunday in the short series.

Young pacer Mayank Yadav, making his international return after a 21-month injury layoff, hit high speeds and extracted sharp bounce to rattle the Zimbabwe bowlers. Medium-pacer Prince Yadav chipped in two scalps, while debutant Ashok Sharma showcased impressive raw pace in an encouraging debut. 

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set the record for being the youngest to score a T20I half-century. The young batter would have been relieved getting the monkey off his back, especially when he was specifically targeted with short balls on England tour.

Young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 19-ball 50 and Mayank Yadav's fiery 4-0-18-2 set up an important win for India in the opening match here, against an opponent which has thrived in home conditions of late. India chased down a modest 126 with more than six overs and seven wickets to spare, riding on Sooryavanshi's fifty, a quickfire 35 from Ishan Kishan and a measured 28 not out from skipper Iyer.

On recovery path with their maiden win under new captain Shreyas Iyer, India will look to sustain the winning momentum for an unassailable lead against Zimbabwe when the two teams face off in the second T20I. After being swept away by Ireland (0-2) and England (0-4), three-time T20 World Cup winners India produced a far better show in their series-opener on Thursday, beating Zimbabwe by seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead.
