Tom Latham C | 28 | 44 | 3 | 0 | 63.63 |
b Washington Sundar
16 OUT! BOWLED'EM! The star from the previous game opens his account with a ripper! Washington Sundar tosses it up, full and on off, gets it to turn away a shy bit. Tom Latham gets drawn forward into his defensive shot but the turn is just enough to take it past the outside edge and rattle the off pole. Latham looked settled but has to go back for 28 off 44. New Zealand lose their second wicket as their captain departs after getting a decent start. 59/2
|
|||||
Devon Conway | 4 | 11 | 1 | 0 | 36.36 |
lbw b Akash Deep
3.2 OUT! LBW! Another appeal for LBW and this time, up goes the finger! The clock ticks and Devon Conway does opt for a review to challenge the on-field decision. Seam-up delivery, on a fuller length from around the stumps, angling on the off and middle channel. Devon Conway takes a half stride forward to push to the mid off region but plays over the line as the ball nips back in with the angle. UltraEdge shows no bat involved and Ball Tracking comes up with three reds. OUT. Not quite sure why Conway reviewed it because as soon as the DRS was loading up, he had already started to walk back to the dressing room. Latham initially had signaled from the non-striker's end that the point of contact might be outside the line of the off-pole and hence, Conway decided to review it. New Zealand burn a review and more importantly, an early wicket. India get their first breakthrough and Akash Deep is all pumped up. New Zealand are 15/1. 15/1

Will Young | 71 | 138 | 4 | 2 | 51.44 |
c Rohit Sharma b Ravindra Jadeja
44.2 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Ravindra Jadeja strikes! Finally, the patience has been rewarded and India gets the breakthrough they were craving here. This is tossed up, full and on middle, turns away just a shy bit. Will Young gets drawn forward into his defensive stroke but the ball takes the outside edge and Rohit Sharma at first slip takes a sharp catch. Young goes back after a fine knock of 71 off 138 and the the big 87-run stand is broken. 159/4
|
|||||
Rachin Ravindra | 5 | 12 | 0 | 0 | 41.66 |
b Washington Sundar
20 OUT! CASTLED! This is an action replay from the last Test! Washington Sundar is producing rippers after rippers and this is a big wicket as Rachin Ravindra falls cheaply. He gives this one some air, full and on middle, and once again turns away just a bit. However, that is enough to beat the defense of Ravindra who strides out to keep it out, but loses his off pole. New Zealand 72/3 now! 72/3
|
|||||
Daryl Mitchell | 82 | 129 | 3 | 3 | 63.56 |
c Rohit Sharma b Washington Sundar
65.1 OUT! TAKEN! What a magnificent catch by Rohit Sharma at the first slip. An absolute stunner from the Indian skipper. Washington Sundar bowls from over the stumps and flattens the trajectory, bowls it on a good length, around middle and off channel. Daryl Mitchell is quick to rock back and squats at it to guide it through the short third region but is beaten by the pace and just tries to guide it with soft hands. Opens the bat face and ends up slicing it off the outer half. The ball goes flat and low towards the first slip. Rohit Sharma shows good reflexes and is quick to react and takes a sharp catch to his right. 228/9
|
|||||
Tom Blundell Wk | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Ravindra Jadeja
44.5 OUT! TIMBER! Ravindra Jadeja with the double whammy! This is an absolute jaffa from him. He floats this up again, full and on middle and leg. This one grips and turns away sharply, Tom Blundell strides out to keep it out but the ball spins past the outside edge and rattles the stumps. Not much Blundell could do about that one and walks back for a duck. New Zealand lose two in the over and goes from 159/3 to 159/5 in a blink of an eye. 159/5
|
|||||
Glenn Phillips | 17 | 28 | 1 | 0 | 60.71 |
b Ravindra Jadeja
53 OUT! BOWLED'EM! Ravindra Jadeja gets his third wicket and has effectively ran through the Kiwi middle order. Jadeja, normally quick through the air, slows his pace a bit this time around. Lands a fuller-length delivery which comes in with the arm, on the middle stump line. Glenn Phillips is drawn forward and looks to defend it underneath his eyes as he looks to play for the turn. However, the ball straightens and hastens up and cuts the batter and knocks his middle stump. Glenn Phillips departs on 17 off 28 balls, and New Zealand are six down now. 187/6
|
|||||
Ish Sodhi | 7 | 19 | 1 | 0 | 36.84 |
lbw b Ravindra Jadeja
60.4 OUT! LBW! Ravindra Jadeja does the trick again for India! He slows it up a touch, full and on middle and leg, gets it to turns away sharply. Ish Sodhi opts to stay back in the crease to block but gets squared up as the ball goes past the outside edge and hits his pads right in front of the stumps. There is a huge appeal and up goes the finger this time. Sodhi walks back without bothering to review it. New Zealand seven down now! 210/7
|
|||||
Matt Henry | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Ravindra Jadeja
61 OUT! CASTLED! NUMBER 5 FOR JADEJA! Another double-wicket over from him and New Zealand are almost done here. This one is pushed through quicker, full and on middle, turns away, Matt Henry stays back to keep it out but play all over it and the ball goes through to uproot the off pole. This is Jadeja's 14th five-wicket haul and he is all pumped up, rightly so. 210/8
|
|||||
Ajaz Patel | 7 | 16 | 0 | 1 | 43.75 |
lbw b Washington Sundar
65.4 OUT! LBW! A huge confident appeal by everyone surrounding the batter and the umpire raises his finger instantly. Ajaz Patel though has reviewed it and challenged the on-field decision. He is in danger though as no shot is offered. Washington Sundar finishes with a spectacular 4-fer. Sundar comes from around the stumps and bowls it around off and drifts it into the batter off the pitch. Ajaz Patel takes a good stride across and looks to pad it away offering no shot at it. Ball Tracking comes up and clearly shows three reds. New Zealand have been bowled out on 235 with 20 overs or so remaining in the day. 235/10

17.2 OUT! BOWLED'EM! Ajaz Patel has got his man and is charged up to bits! Ajaz Patel bowls it flat and full in front of the stumps, Yashasvi Jaiswal pre-meditates and tries to play the reverse sweep. But the line is not ideal to play that shot. He though goes through the shot and misses all ends up and plays all over the line. The ball lands, grips and clatters the middle and leg stumps. India lose their second wicket and Ajaz Patel redeems himself with this one. 78/2

Rohit Sharma C | 18 | 18 | 3 | 0 | 100 |
c Tom Latham b Matt Henry
6.5 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Matt Henry draws first blood and Wankhede goes silent! He hits the good length and just around off, this one hits the deck and takes off viciously, shapes away a touch too. Rohit Sharma looks to work it across the line but gets surprised by the extra bounce. He closes his bat face early and the ball goes off the top edge toward third slip where Tom Latham gobbles it up. Another start for the Indian skipper but he fails to build on that. William O'Rourke will be a relieved man as his dropped chance does not cost the Kiwis much. 25/1

|||||
Shubman Gill | 90 | 146 | 7 | 1 | 61.64 |
c Daryl Mitchell b Ajaz Patel
53.2 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN, AGAIN! Ajaz Patel gets his fourth wicket now! Ajaz Patel sticks to his plans and bowls it from around the wickets. Tosses this one up, drifts it in on the off stump, it lands, grips and viciously turns away from the batter. It tad bit holds on the surface as well as Gill is drawn on the front foot. He tries to push it with hard hands and plays inside the line. Gets a healthy outside edge that goes flat towards the first slip where Daryl Mitchell takes another sharp low catch to his right. Safe mitts from Mitchell as he takes his second catch. A huge moment in this match as Shubman Gill departs just 10 shy from his ton. He departs on a well-constructed 90 as India are eight down now. 227/8
|
|||||
Mohammed Siraj | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
lbw b Ajaz Patel
17.3 OUT! LBW! A huge appeal for LBW and the umpire raises his finger! Ajaz Patel removes the nightwatchman in the very first delivery and New Zealand has sneaked back into the game now. Patel comes from around the stumps and lands it on a fullish length, it lands, grips and turns a fraction away from the batter. Mohammed Siraj lunges ahead to defend it out but plays inside the line of the ball and wears it on the back pad. Nothing on UltraEdge and Ball Tracking comes up with three reds. India burn a crucial review and this will be part of the debate as well. Ajaz Patel is on a HAT TRICK now. India has slipped to 78/3 after a decent start. 78/3

Virat Kohli | 4 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 66.66 |
run out (Matt Henry)
18.3 OUT! DEAR, OH DEAR! RUN OUT! Almost a reminiscence of the Cheteshwar Pujara dismissal against Australia at The Adelaide Oval in the first Test in 2018, when Pat Cummins scored a direct hit from mid on to catch Pujara short at the bowling end. The batter and opposition are different this time but the result and the subsequent questions regarding the run precisely the same. In both cases, the call was questionable from the batter and the fielder was a fast bowler. Was the call made probably because Kohli felt that Henry might have been resting on his heels? And basically, was this run necessary at this stage of the day? Not sure. Kohli perishes too after a boundary. This is going from bad to worse now for India. A run out just at the brink of Stumps and Virat Kohli is absolutely animated with himself. Fuller in length, and at the stumps. Kohli got on the front foot and pushed it to mid on, calling through for a quick single. Matt Henry, at mid on was quick to pick and throw in a motion and scored a terrific direct hit at the non-striker's end. Kohli was compelled to put in a full-length dive to get home. The Kiwis started to celebrate and the decision was referred upstairs. The TV umpire confirms that Kohli's bat was just a foot outside the crease when the stumps were hit. It was Kohli's call so no one else could be really blamed. Heartbreaking last 15 minutes or so for India as they have now slipped from a comfortable 78/1 to a precarious 84/4. On the other hand, terrific from New Zealand to keep on fighting till the very end. 84/4

|||||
Rishabh Pant Wk | 60 | 59 | 8 | 2 | 101.69 |
lbw b Ish Sodhi
37.3 OUT! A huge appeal for LBW and up goes the finger. Sodhi provides a huge crucial breakthrough for New Zealand. Rishabh Pant has a chat with Gill and just with a couple of seconds remaining on the timer, he signals the 'T' and challenges the on-field decision. Sodhi comes from around the stumps and lands fairly outside off. It pitches, grips and stays low and prodigiously turns back into the left-hander. Rishabh Pant goes on the back foot to work it to the leg side but gets beaten by the turn and lack of bounce. The ball passes close to the bat and pings his front pad. UltraEdge shows no spike and the Ball Tracking comes up with the ball hitting the leg stump on the umpire's call. OUT IT IS! Michael Gough, the umpire, gets it right yet again this time and this just might be the breakthrough the Kiwis were looking for. A celebration in unison from them as Pant departs on almost a run-a-ball 60. India are 180/5 down now, trailing by 55 runs. 180/5

Ravindra Jadeja | 14 | 25 | 0 | 0 | 56 |
c Daryl Mitchell b Glenn Phillips
46.5 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Glenn Phillips strikes early in this session! He has deserved this more than anyone else. He gives this one some more air, full and around middle, and gets it to turn away a shy bit. Ravindra Jadeja prods forward to block it with hard hands but gets an outside edge towards first slip where Daryl Mitchell takes a sharp low catch to his left. Jadeja departs for 14 off 25 and India lose their sixth! India trail by 32 more runs now. 203/6
|
|||||
Sarfaraz Khan | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Tom Blundell b Ajaz Patel
48 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Ajaz Patel gets his third now! This is a ripper of a delivery to get rid of the local boy. Tossed up, full and on off, grips and turns away with extra bounce again. Sarfaraz Khan strides out to defend but the ball spins away, takes the gloves and Tom Blundell behind the stumps takes a fine catch to his right. India seven down now and still trails by 31 runs! India further slips down from 180/4 to 204/7. They have now lost three wickets just in the span of about 11 overs and 24 runs. 204/7

58 OUT! 6TH FIVE-WICKET HAUL FOR AJAZ PATEL, ALL IN THE SUBCONTINENT! And he continues to weave his magic at Wankhede. India are 9 wickets down now with a very thin lead at their helm. Patel stays around the stumps and loops it up on a fullish length, it lands, grips, bounces and turns sharply away from the batter. Ravichandran Ashwin is drawn forward and looks to push it through the off side but that excessive turn and bounce takes the outside edge of his willow and Daryl Mitchell with his safe pair of hands takes a regulation catch at the first slip. Ravichandran Ashwin departs on 6 off 13 balls and India have now slipped down badly against Ajaz Patel. 247/9

run out (Rachin Ravindra / Tom Blundell)
59.4 OUT! RUN OUT! An anti-climatic end to the Indian innings! Ajaz Patel lands this short again and around off, Washington Sundar steers it away through point and runs the single very quickly thinking there is a chance of a second run but he gives up that idea. However, Akash Deep is a bit late turn back, and Rachin Ravindra quickly charges onto the ball and throws it right at the top of the stumps where Tom Blundell collects and breaks the stumps in a flash. Akash Deep did not want to put a dive in and tries to drag his bat inside but the replay shows that he is short of his crease. Sundar is disappointed as he was looking good to extend this lead even further but now India have been bowled out for 263 runs. 263/10

0.5 OUT! BOWLED'EM! Akash Deep draws first blood and the Wankhede crowd has gone wild here. No need of a review this time and it is a jaffa from the fast bowler. Pitches it up, on middle, angles in sharply, Tom Latham tries to defend again but plays down the wrong line as the ball goes straight through his defense to shatter the stumps all over. Akash Deep is pumped up here and the Kiwis have been rocked early! 2/1

Devon Conway | 22 | 47 | 2 | 0 | 46.80 |
c Shubman Gill b Washington Sundar
12.5 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Washington Sundar continues on his merry way and picks up his first one! New Zealand are two down now. Washington Sundar gets an extra bit of bounce on this one as he lands it just outside off. The ball lands and grips off the deck and turns away sharply after pitching. Devon Conway pushes at it, away from his body with hard hands. Hence, a healthy outside edge is found. It goes straight into the mitts of Shubman Gill stationed at second slip. Devon Conway departs after being well set on 22 off 47. 39/2

|||||
Will Young | 51 | 100 | 2 | 1 | 51 |
c & b Ravichandran Ashwin
39 OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Ashwin strikes for the third time and ends the brave fight from Will Young! Ashwin dishes out another variety of a carrom ball, lands it fuller in length and in the middle and off channel. Will Young again fails to pick the ball out of Ashwin's fingers and goes through the shot. He plays for the ball to turn into him and closes the bat early to play with the spin. However, the ball spins away and he ends up chipping it back to Ashwin who takes it quite comfortably. Will Young departs on 51 off 100 balls and New Zealand lead by 122 runs with just 2 wickets in hand now. 150/8

Rachin Ravindra | 4 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 133.33 |
st Rishabh Pant b Ravichandran Ashwin
14 OUT! STUMPED! OUTFOXED! Ravichandran Ashwin strikes through now and it is a huge wicket of the in-form Rachin Ravindra who has to depart. Ravichandran Ashwin sees the batter charging at him, and pulls his length back and also flattens the trajectory. Lands it around off and the ball grips and holds on the surface. It leaves the batter after pitching as Rachin Ravindra tries to play a wild heave across the line. Misses to connect by a huge margin and Rishabh Pant collects the ball cleanly behind the wickets. Pant does the rest as Rachin Ravindra is found miles outside the popping crease. Rachin Ravindra looked in a bit of a rush there. Clever bowling this from Ashwin! New Zealand in trouble now as they slip down to 44/3 with just a lead of 16 runs in the bank. 44/3
|
|||||
Daryl Mitchell | 21 | 44 | 1 | 1 | 47.72 |
c Ravichandran Ashwin b Ravindra Jadeja
27.5 OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN, YOU BEAUTY! The senior statesman shows how it's done! Ravindra Jadeja pulls his length back a bit as he sees Daryl Mitchell charging down to the track. It lands and grips off the surface around off, Daryl Mitchell goes through his shot and tries to hit it too hard, and ends up losing his shape a bit. Hence, he fails to find the middle of the bat and it goes high up in the air. It swirls overhead for an eternity towards the long on region. Ravichandran Ashwin from mid on runs backward and side-on keeping his eyes locked on the ball. Takes the catch and manages to maintain the ball in his hands while tumbling over. Ravindra Jadeja breaks a brewing partnership and gets his first wicket. Daryl Mitchell departs on 21 off 44. New Zealand are 94/4. 94/4

Tom Blundell Wk | 4 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 66.66 |
b Ravindra Jadeja
29.3 OUT! DRAGGED ON! RAVINDRA JADEJA ON A ROLL HERE! Half of the New Zealand side is into the sheds now. Ravindra Jadeja stays around the stumps and lands a flatter one, on a good length, just around off. Tom Blundell goes deep inside the crease to access the back foot punch but is a bit late to bring his bat down as the ball skids off the surface. It chops on from the bottom edge of the bat and clatters the stumps. Another underwhelming outing for Blundell as he departs for 4 off 6. New Zealand lose their fifth and they lead by just 72 runs. 100/5
|
|||||
Glenn Phillips | 26 | 14 | 1 | 3 | 185.71 |
b Ravichandran Ashwin
32.5 OUT! TIMBER! Ravichandran Ashwin at his best! He has outfoxed Glenn Phillips with a beauty. He brings out the carrom ball here, full and lands it on the leg stump line, this one turns away sharply. Glenn Phillips fails to pick it and strides out to block but plays down the wrong line as the ball spins past the outside edge to rattle the stumps. Phillips falls for a quick-fire 26 off just 14 balls and New Zealand are effectively 103/6! 131/6
|
|||||
Ish Sodhi | 8 | 14 | 1 | 0 | 57.14 |
c Virat Kohli b Ravindra Jadeja
37.5 OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Ravindra Jadeja has three now! He gives this one some more air, full and on off, turns away as well. Ish Sodhi strides out and looks to push it away, but he plays away from his body. As a result, he is not in control of the shot and ends up chipping it wide of short covers where Virat Kohli dives to his left to take a good catch. New Zealand seven down and leads by 120 runs! 148/7
|
|||||
Matt Henry | 10 | 16 | 0 | 1 | 62.50 |
b Ravindra Jadeja
43.3 OUT! BOWLED'EM! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Ravindra Jadeja picks up his fourth wicket off another peach of a delivery. New Zealand are 9 down now. Jadeja stays around the stumps for the right-hander and bowls a quicker one on the good length. It lands on the middle stump line, gets a good grip and leaves the batter, cutting him into half. Matt Henry is drawn forward and brings his bat in front to defend but ends up playing inside the line of the ball. It goes past flirting with the outside edge and disturbs the furniture. Matt Henry departs on 10 off 16 and New Zealand are 171/9 with a lead of 143 runs. Also, with this wicket, IT IS STUMPS ON DAY 2! 171/9
|

Ajaz Patel | 8 | 23 | 0 | 1 | 34.78 |
c Akash Deep b Ravindra Jadeja
45.5 OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! That's Ravindra Jadeja for you! Quintessential with the ball and he registers another 5-wicket haul. 15th of his Test career. Five in the first inning and five in the second as well. He has now taken 10 wickets in this Test and has effectively run through the Kiwi batting unit. India bundle out New Zealand under three overs in the day and they now need 147 runs to win this third Test. Coming to the ball, Ravindra Jadeja stays around the stumps and flattens the trajectory on the middle and leg, turning in off the pitch. Ajaz Patel sits down and premeditates the slog sweep. Doesn't get his bat properly underneath the ball and hence, gets barely any timing on it. It flies only as far as Akash Deep patrolling the deep mid-wicket fence who does the rest. 174/10

6.5 OUT! LBW! Glenn Phillips strikes in his very first over! It is pin-drop silence here in Wankehede as New Zealand are on top at the moment. Flatter delivery, full and on middle, angling in, Yashasvi Jaiswal takes a big stride forward to block. His bat and pad are very close to each other and the ball pops up towards first slip where Daryl Mitchell grabs it. There is a massive appeal and up goes the finger. Jaiswal takes the review after a chat with Pant. After a few replays and UltraEdge, the third umpire reckons that it has hit the pad and not the bat. However, Ball Tracking comes up with three reds and Jaiswal too has to walk back to the hut. India are 28/4 now! 28/4

3 OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! A needless rash shot by the Indian skipper and Matt Henry strikes early for New Zealand. Hits the deck hard, on the stumps, skidding through quickly off the surface, Rohit Sharma tries to take the aerial route and goes for his favorite pull shot but without proper weight transfer on the back foot. The ball gets a bit heavy on him as well as he goes through the shot. Mistimes it badly in the air as it swirls up in the air off the bat's manufacturer sticker. It goes only as far as Glenn Phillips who runs a few steps backward and takes a good reverse cup tumbling catch at the mid-wicket region. Disappointing shot by Rohit, to say the least. A spectacular catch though by Glenn Phillips under pressure and he is not dropping those. 13/1

4 OUT! BOWLED'EM! What a start this is for New Zealand! An error in judgment and the top-scorer from the first innings goes back cheaply. Ajaz Patel bowls the arm ball here, full and around off, going in with the arm. Shubman Gill fails to read it and thinks it will turn away and shoulder arms to it only to hear the dreaded sound of timber. India are 16/2 and still needs 131 runs to win! 16/2

Flighted delivery, full and on middle, drifts in and then turns away sharply with extra bounce. Virat Kohli prods forward to block it with a straight bat but gets an outside edge towards the first slip where Daryl Mitchell dives low to his right to take a sharp catch. He has been immense in that position in this game. India three down and in a deep spot of bother. 18/3

Rishabh Pant Wk | 64 | 57 | 9 | 1 | 112.28 |
c Tom Blundell b Ajaz Patel
21.4 OUT! TAKEN! Oh dear oh dear! We have another twist in the tale in this game, Rishabh Pant is not happy with this decision but has to walk back. Ajaz Patel slows it up a bit, full and on off, turns in sharply with bounce, Rishabh Pant uses his feet and looks to defend but the ball passes close to the inside edge and pops up, Tom Blundell, the keeper gets forward and completes the catch. Another appeal for bat-pad, but turned down again! Tom Latham is desperate here and decides to take the review. UltraEdge shows a spike when the bat hits his pad, but there is also a spike when the ball is close to the bat and there is no gap in the replay. The third umpire overturns the on-field call and there is complete silence around the ground. Pant cannot believe it one bit, and has an animated chat with the on-field umpire, Michael Gough. But, it is done and dusted as the decision has been made and he goes back with the slowest walks to the dressing room, departing after 64 off 57 and this is anyone's game now. Boos all around the Wankhede as the controller of the game is gone. Ajaz Patel gets his 7th five-wicket haul, and each of them has come in the subcontinent. New Zealand can now sense history in the making as they are just 3 wickets away from executing a clean sweep. 106/7

c Rachin Ravindra b Ajaz Patel
7.1 OUT! TAKEN! Would you believe it? India are digging a hole for themselves and Sarfaraz Khan becomes the third batter to be dismissed for one run. Tossed up and around middle, Sarfaraz Khan goes down on one knee, makes it a full toss and swipes it away. However, unfortunately for him, he picks out Rachin Ravindra at deep square leg who makes no mistake. India lose half their side now! New Zealand are on the verge of doing the most unthinkable here at the Wankhede. 29/5

Ravindra Jadeja | 6 | 22 | 0 | 0 | 27.27 |
c Will Young b Ajaz Patel
16 OUT! TAKEN! A fantastic catch from Will Young! Ajaz Patel gets his fourth and breaks the 42-run stand. This is a bit quicker, short and on middle, Ravindra Jadeja moves back to flick it away hard. But he only manages an inside edge onto his pads as the ball lobs up wide of short leg, Young dives to his right and grabs it with his outstretched right hand by tumbling over. Sharp awareness by Young. India needs 76 more runs to win with only 4 wickets in hand! 71/6

Washington Sundar | 12 | 25 | 0 | 0 | 48 |
b Ajaz Patel
29.1 OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! NEW ZEALAND BLANK INDIA OUT IN THIS 3-MATCH TEST SERIES AND EXECUTE A DOMINATING CLEAN SWEEP! History has been scripted at the Wankhede Stadium and probably the greatest Test series win in the history of New Zealand cricket. And this is the first ever time when India has been whitewashed in a 3-match Test series on their home soil. Absolute pin-drop silence in the stadium but exactly contradictory scenes in the visitors' camp as their joy knows no bounds. Coming to the delivery, Ajaz Patel bowls it from over the stumps, and tosses this one up. Full in length, outside off, and it lands right on the rough and spins back in viciously. Washington Sundar sits down to access the slog sweep but the turn gets the better of him. He gets no bat on it and the ball disturbs the furniture. Ajaz Patel finish off with a spectacular 6-for but this has been a complete team performance by the Blackcaps. They win this series by 3-0. 121/10

Ravichandran Ashwin | 8 | 29 | 0 | 0 | 27.58 |
c Tom Blundell b Glenn Phillips
28.4 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! An appeal and up goes the finger. Ravichandran Ashwin though reviews it and challenges the on-field decision. But another unnecessary shot selection here by an Indian batter. Coming to the ball, this is a fuller-length delivery, just around off, spinning a tad bit into the batter. Ravichandran Ashwin premeditates and sits down to reverse sweep. Goes through the shot but doesn't get any bat on it and Tom Blundell does the rest behind the stumps. UltraEdge comes up and shows the spike off the gloves. OUT IT IS! India lose their 8th wicket and New Zealand can believe it now. India need 26 more to win. 121/8

Akash Deep | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Glenn Phillips
28.5 OUT! BOWLED'EM! TOTALLY OUTFOXED! GLENN PHILLIPS, YOU BEAUTY! He pitches this one right on the money, full and just outside off. It lands, grips and turns back in prodigiously. Akash Deep takes his front foot out to defend but plays over the line of the ball which creates a huge gap between the bat and the pad. The ball turns sharply and sneaks through the gates before crashing into the wickets. New Zealand just a solitary wicket away from creating history at the Wankhede. And 26 surely feels like an Everest to climb now. PHILLIPS ON A HAT TRICK. 121/9
