lbw b Stuart Broad
107.1 OUT! LBW! Umpire's call it is and Masood's magnificent innings comes to an end. Brilliant stuff. He has taken Pakistan to a strong position. He raises his bat as he walks back to the dressing room. Good length ball on middle, angling in. Masood looks to push but misses and gets rapped on the pads. Broad appeals and the umpire raises the finger. Broad appeals and the umpire takes a lot of time to raise his finger. Broad does not realize that he has given it out and is surprised as he turns around to have a look at the umpire again. Masood reviews immediately. The Ultra Edge shows no bat while the Ball Tracker shows that it is umpire's call on hitting the stumps. 317/9

Abid Ali | 16 | 37 | 2 | 0 | 43.24 |
b Jofra Archer
15.1 OUT! TIMBER! That's a ripper from Archer! A full delivery does the trick for England. A good little start comes to an end for Pakistan. Archer bowled a couple of bouncers at the end of his previous over but this time, he dishes a full delivery on off, nipping in, Ali looks to push but is trapped in his crease as the ball hits the pads and goes onto hit the off stump. Just terrific from Archer. Abid was probably expecting a bouncer but got surprised by the length of the delivery and was beaten by the pace. 36/1
Azhar Ali C | 6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
lbw b Chris Woakes
18.1 OUT! LBW! All reds it is and Ali has to go. Ali thought that there was some bat on it but that wasn't the case. This is terrific bowling from Chris Woakes. He was exceptional in the last Test against West Indies and he has started well here too. Good length ball around off, nipping in sharply. Ali looks to flick but gets rapped on the pads. England appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Azhar takes the review immediately. The Ultra Edge shows no bat while the Ball Tracker shows that it is pitching in line and it is going onto hit the stumps. Poor review from the Pakistan skipper. He probably must have heard the noise of the bat hitting the pad. 43/2

Babar Azam | 69 | 106 | 11 | 0 | 65.09 |
c Joe Root b James Anderson
50 OUT! CAUGHT! That's what England would have been hoping for at the start! Brilliant delivery from James Anderson. Azam goes after playing a classy knock. England needed this start after having a poor Day 1. Anderson dishes a full delivery outside off, moving away. Azam looks to drive it. It takes the outside edge and goes to Root at first slip who makes no mistake. Anderson was testing Azam in this over and gave away no freebies and he has been rewarded for his tight line and length. 139/3
Asad Shafiq | 7 | 22 | 1 | 0 | 31.81 |
c Ben Stokes b Stuart Broad
56.5 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Broad now gets one! Asad Shafiq walks back for a single digit score and England are probably back on top in this game. This is a lovely delivery. It is on a length, it lands around off and then straightens a touch. There is also good bounce on this one. Asad looks to defend but does so inside the line. It flies off the outside edge and goes towards second slip where Stokes makes no mistake. England have started brilliantly today morning. 150/4
Mohammad Rizwan Wk | 9 | 41 | 0 | 0 | 21.95 |
c Jos Buttler b Chris Woakes
70.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Pakistan have lost half their side! Rizwan was looking fidgety out there and he perishes! Beautiful piece of bowling from Woakes. He has been England's best bowler so far and he delivers yet again. Good length ball around off, Rizwan looks to defend but it goes off the outside edge towards the right of the keeper. Buttler tumbles and takes a simple catch. England have been all over Pakistan in the morning session of Day 2. 176/5
Shadab Khan | 45 | 76 | 3 | 0 | 59.21 |
c Joe Root b Dom Bess
95.3 OUT! CAUGHT! England needed that desperately! A brilliant partnership comes to an end! Shadab Khan played a handy innings but now has to walk back. Bess tosses this one on middle, Shadab comes down the track and looks to heave it to the mid-wicket. He does not get to the pitch of the ball and can only get a top edge. Joe Root settles himself and takes a simple catch. England need to keep taking wickets. 281/6
Yasir Shah | 5 | 25 | 0 | 0 | 20 |
lbw b Jofra Archer
102.2 OUT! LBW! Time up and Shah cannot take the review! Archer gets his second wicket. Good length ball on middle and leg, nipping in. Shah looks to defend but misses and gets rapped on the pads. Archer and the rest appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Yasir is involved in a long discussion with Masood but the time finishes. He has to walk back to the pavilion. The Ball Tracker rolls in and it shows that it was umpire's call on hitting the stumps. England three wickets away from bowling Pakistan out. 291/7
Mohammad Abbas | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Joe Root b Jofra Archer
102.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Archer has two-in-two! He will be on a Hat-Trick. Pakistan's lower order is a little weak and it is proving correct. Good length ball around off, Abbas looks to defend but it takes the outside edge and goes to Root at first slip who pouches it comfortably. Pakistan collapsing yet again. 291/8

109.3 OUT! CAUGHT! That's the end of that! Clear spike on Ultra Edge and Pakistan's innings is over. Good length ball around off, Shah looks to defend but it seems to have hit the gloves and goes into the mitts of the keeper. They appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Shah does not think that he is out and reviews. The Ultra Edge shows that there is a spike as the ball passes the gloves. PAKISTAN BOWLED OUT FOR 326. 326/10

lbw b Shaheen Afridi
0.4 OUT! LBW! Fantastic review from Pakistan! What a start for them! Just the start they needed! That's why Pakistan's fast bowling line-up is one of the best. Good length ball on middle and leg, which straightens after pitching. Burns looks to push but misses and gets rapped on the pads. Pakistan put in a huge appeal but nothing from the umpire. Azhar takes the review after consulting his teammates. The Ultra Edge shows no bat and the Ball Tracker shows that it is pitching in line, impact is in line and is hitting the stumps. Burns fails and this is a terrible start for England. 4/1
Dom Sibley | 8 | 8 | 1 | 0 | 100 |
lbw b Mohammad Abbas
3.2 OUT! Three reds and that turns out to be a waste of a review. Expected that as it looked plumb. England in deep, deep trouble here as they have lost both their openers within the first 4 overs. Abbas has one now. This is on a length and around off, it pitches and jags back in. Sibley fails to put bat on ball and is hit on the pad. An appeal and up goes the finger. Sibley reviews and replays show that the on-field call is the right one. England lose a review too. 12/2
Joe Root C | 14 | 58 | 2 | 0 | 24.13 |
c Mohammad Rizwan b Yasir Shah
19.5 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Root falls and Pakistan strike again! Yasir Shah did not start well but has delivered the wicket. Root was struggling at the crease and his luck runs out. Brilliant catch from Rizwan though. Flatter one around off, Root looks to cut but it is too close. It takes the outside edge towards the keeper. Rizwan takes a good catch. England have a long tail and they desperately did not want this wicket to fall. Pakistan are on top at the moment. 62/4
Ben Stokes | 7 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Mohammad Abbas
5.3 OUT! TIMBER! It takes something special to get Stokes out and this is one of the best balls you will get to see. You could see the surprise on Stokes' face. Unplayable to be honest. Stokes standing in the crease or outside wouldn't have mattered. One just gets the feeling that delivery would have gotten out many batters. It is a length delivery, slightly fuller for Stokes as he is a touch ahead of his crease. He looks to defend the original trajectory but the ball moves away and hits the top of off. Pakistan are ecstatic. They know the importance of this wicket. Waqar Younis, the bowling coach, is a pleased man as he applauds from the pavilion. Abbas would have enjoyed it as that is what you hope of, hitting the top of off as a bowler. Pakistan all over England at the moment. Mohammad Abbas just showing once again what he is capable of in England. Top class stuff. 12/3
Ollie Pope | 62 | 117 | 8 | 0 | 52.99 |
c Shadab Khan b Naseem Shah
44.3 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! That is a nasty delivery! Top class from Naseem Shah. Pope is in disbelief! He couldn't do a lot over there. Needed something good to get rid of Pope who was looking solid and Shah has provided it. He is absolutely pumped up. A real effort ball. It lands on a length and around off, takes off from nowhere. Pope does all he could to keep it down. He looks to play it with soft hands and also tries taking one hand off the handle in the end. Nothing saves him as the ball keeps rising, hits the shoulder of the bat and lobs towards gully. Shadab takes it quite awkwardly. He had his body weight backwards but did well to hang onto it. He then indicates he did not see it. An important catch though as the momentum had just about started to shift. England trail by 199. 127/5
Jos Buttler Wk | 38 | 108 | 5 | 0 | 35.18 |
b Yasir Shah
53.2 OUT! TIMBER! Right through the gate! Yasir Shah strikes on his second ball after Lunch and it is the big one of Buttler. He walks back without adding any runs after the break and he probably takes England's hopes of getting close to the Pakistan total with him. Lovely delivery. Gives it nice amount of loop and lands it on off, Buttler looks to play for turn, he ends up playing outside the line and also leaves the gap between bat and pad. It sneaks it through as it skidded on and clips the off pole. It was the tiniest gap between bat and pad but it goes through. The visitors will be sensing a big lead now. 159/6
Chris Woakes | 19 | 48 | 2 | 0 | 39.58 |
b Yasir Shah
61.4 OUT! TIMBER! What a delivery from Yasir Shah! 4th wicket for Yasir. Woakes has to go and England are on the verge of conceding a big lead. Short and quicker on middle, Woakes rocks on his back foot and looks to pull. He misses and the ball goes onto hit the middle stump. Brilliant stuff from the leg spinner. Pakistan are right on top. England are still 156 behind. 170/8
Dom Bess | 1 | 12 | 0 | 0 | 8.33 |
c Asad Shafiq b Yasir Shah
57.4 OUT! Edged and that is a superb catch from Shafiq! Another one for Shah, really would love to know what he had for Lunch because he is on fire at the moment. Another rippa of a delivery. Turn, bounce and he gets the breakthrough. It lands on off and then spins away sharply. Bess looks to defend but due to the turn and the extra bounce, it hits the shoulder and lobs to the right of the first slip fielder. He moves there, dives and takes it with two hands. Three for Yasir. 161/7
Jofra Archer | 16 | 33 | 1 | 0 | 48.48 |
c Mohammad Rizwan b Shadab Khan
66.4 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! What a ball from Shadab Khan! Archer cannot believe that he has been given out but eventually walks off. Floated ball around off, which spins away. Archer looks to defend but it takes the gloves and goes into the mitts of the keeper. Pakistan put up an appeal and the finger goes up. Archer stands in disbelief but then walks back to the pavilion. England still 129 runs behind. 197/9

Pakistan put up an appeal. The umpire raises his finger. Anderson reviews. The Ultra Edge shows no bat and the Ball Tracker shows that all reds. ENGLAND ALL OUT FOR 219. 219/10

2 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Strangled down the leg side! England needed an early wicket and they have got one. Masood scored a century in the first innings but gets out for a duck in the second. How fortunes change! Good length ball on the pads, Masood looks to flick but it goes off the middle of the bat and into the gloves of Buttler. A huge sigh of relief for Buttler. 6/1
Abid Ali | 20 | 46 | 3 | 0 | 43.47 |
c Chris Woakes b Dom Bess
14 OUT! CAUGHT! This is really poor batting! There was absolutely no need of hitting this shot! Why attempt it when there is a fielder present in the deep? This is the exact reason that Bess was brought into the attack. Bess tosses this one on middle, Abid goes on his knees and then looks to sweep but the ball bounces a little extra and it goes off the top edge towards deep mid-wicket. Chris Woakes comes ahead and takes a simple catch. Pakistan are effectively 140 for 2. 33/2
Azhar Ali C | 18 | 54 | 3 | 0 | 33.33 |
lbw b Chris Woakes
23.5 OUT! LBW! That looked plumb! The reverse swing does the trick for Woakes! He bowls on a different level when it comes to bowling in England. The home side are not out of it yet. Brilliant stuff from Chris. Full delivery on middle, it reverses after pitching. Ali looks to flick but misses and gets rapped on the pads. England appeal and the umpire raises the dreaded finger. Azhar discusses with Shafiq for the review but decides against it. Good decision as the Ball Tracker shows all reds. Would have been a waste of a review. Pakistan lead by 170 runs. 63/4
Babar Azam | 5 | 20 | 0 | 0 | 25 |
c Ben Stokes b Chris Woakes
19.5 OUT! CAUGHT! Stokes does not drop this one! Azam falters this time. Woakes comes into the attack and strikes immediately. Brilliant from Woakes and England are making a comeback in this match. Chris dishes a good length ball around off, Azam looks to defend but it takes the outside edge and goes towards second slip. Stokes dives to his left and takes a good catch. Pakistan lead by 155. 48/3

Asad Shafiq | 29 | 43 | 3 | 0 | 67.44 |
run out (Dom Sibley)
33.5 OUT! RUN OUT! Excellent piece of fielding has resulted in a wicket. This partnership was building and England have picked up a wicket at the right time. Shafiq walks back disappointed. Good length ball on off, Rizwan defends it to cover and takes off for a single. He is hesitant but then they decide to go for it. Sibley comes across, picks it up with one hand and has a shy at the stumps. He hits and the third umpire is called into question. From the looks of Shafiq, he thinks he is a goner. The replays roll in and they show that Shafiq is well out. Excellent stuff from Dom Sibley. 101/5
Mohammad Rizwan Wk | 27 | 43 | 2 | 0 | 62.79 |
lbw b Ben Stokes
38.2 OUT! LBW! Umpire's call it is! Ben Stokes does it again! We have seen it many times that whenever England need a wicket, Ben Stokes provides them with one. Lovely bowling from Ben Stokes. Good length ball on off, angling in. Rizwan looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. England appeal and the umpire raises the finger. Rizwan opts for the review. There is nothing on Ultra Edge and the Ball Tracker shows that it is umpire's call on hitting the stumps. Rizwan has to go. Pakistan lead by 227. 120/6
Shadab Khan | 15 | 22 | 2 | 0 | 68.18 |
lbw b Stuart Broad
40 OUT! LBW! All reds and Khan has to go. England are right back in this game! Brilliant bowling from Broad. He bowled shorter before this and now dishes a full delivery on middle. Shadab hangs back in his crease, expecting another bouncer. He looks to flick but gets rapped on the pads. Broad and the rest put up a huge appeal but nothing from the umpire. Root takes the review. The Ultra Edge shows no spike. What about Ball Tracker? It shows all reds. Shadab has to go now. Pakistan lead by 229. 122/7
Yasir Shah | 33 | 24 | 5 | 1 | 137.50 |
c Jos Buttler b Stuart Broad
45.5 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! With the field coming in, Yasir Shah thought that he could have gone for a big one but fails as he nicks one to the keeper. End of a wonderful little cameo from Shah! He has added some valuable runs to the lead. Broad dishes a good length ball outside off, Shah clears his front leg and looks to go over mid off but the ball takes the outside edge and goes to Buttler who makes no mistake this time. Pakistan lead by 265 runs. 158/9

Shaheen Afridi | 2 | 11 | 0 | 0 | 18.18 |

43.3 OUT! CAUGHT! What a nasty delivery from Stokes! You cannot keep him out of the game! He failed with the bat but he is delivering big time with the ball! Short ball around middle, Afridi looks to fend it away but gets a glove on it and it lobs towards gully. Burns comes ahead and takes the simplest of catches. Pakistan are effectively 244 for 8. 137/8
