The ball hits the splice of his bat and lobs towards Malan at second slip who takes an easy catch. Shafiq departs after a very good knock and the 84-run stand has been cut short. 79 OUT! The short ball ploy has worked again for England! A poor bit of cricket from the Pakistan skipper and he pays the price for it. With Tea around the corner, there was no need to go for an ambitious shot. Stokes runs in hard and bowls a bouncer on middle and leg. This time it is pretty well-directed. Ahmed gets a bit low and goes for the pull shot but only manages to top edge it towards fine leg. Mark Wood stays calm near the ropes and pouches it safely. Stokes gets his second wicket. Pakistan have got the opening breakthrough pretty quickly. The Hawk Eye shows the ball would have clipped the top of off stump. 16.5 OUT! Bowled 'em! Stoneman has been completely outfoxed by the young leggie. A rough has developed outside the off stump of the left-handed batsmen and Khan has exploited that to great effect. Bowls it well outside off at a slower pace and gets it to spin in sharply. Stoneman is caught in the crease as he attempts to negotiate it but the ball stays very low, goes beneath the bat and crashes into the stumps. Perhaps, he should have come on the front foot to give himself a better chance to deal with it. The visitors are elated! England still trail by 148 runs.  31/2

41.3 OUT! No, there is no inside edge and the English skipper departs! Huge blow for the home team. Perhaps, the last ray of hope for England has died down. Mohammad Abbas delivers yet again for his side. He bowls it from wide of the crease and gets the ball to angle into the batsman sharply. Root tries to block it out but misses to get hit on the pads. Abbas roars in an appeal and the umpire obliges. However, Root goes for the DRS straightaway as it is a very important wicket in the context of the game. Time for the replays. The Ultra Edge doesn't detect anything. Now, the Hawk Eye rolls in and it shows three reds. The on-field decision stays and the hosts lose a review. The mainstay is walking back with a dejected face. It doesn't go across with the natural angle but swings in prodigiously. Bairstow has no clue about it as evident from his footwork. Shortish delivery on middle and leg, spins into the batsman, who backs away and mistimes the pull towards mid-wicket. It goes uppishly and Fakhar Zaman (sub) takes it by moving to his right. 82.1 OUT! Bowled 'em! That is it. Phew! What an amazing effort from Pakistan. It took them just 25 balls this morning to wrap the England innings. Bess stands there in disappointment after seeing his furniture getting disturbed. Amir bowls from wide of the crease and slants it into the stumps. The ball keeps a tad low as Bess tries to drive that one without covering the line of the delivery. Gets a bottom edge and the off stump is uprooted. The target for Pakistan is just 64.  242/10

81 OUT! Is there a nick? You bet! Two wickets in quick succession for Pakistan and they are once again bossing this game. Both the front line bowlers are doing the job for their side. In the previous over, Abbas got the big fish and Amir follows the suit by picking up a wicket in his very first over of the day. England have a small lead of 62 and now they have just a couple of wickets in hand. It is a good delivery which deserves a wicket. It is on a wobbly seam and pitches on a length, closer to the off peg and angles across the batsman. Wood leans forward to defend that but gets a feather touch through to the keeper. They have added just seven runs to the total and have lost three wickets in a jiffy! Abbas is the man for the traveling team, he gets his fourth wicket in this innings. He has been a revelation with the ball and rarely does his effort goes without being noticed. Coming to the ball - It is on a good length on off and middle, moves away from the left-handed batsman.
