Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Miss 3rd Test vs New Zealand, Shardul Thakur Called Up

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the 3rd Test match vs New Zealand in Indore with a back strain.

Bhuvneshwar, who picked up five wickets in New Zealand's first innings in the 2nd Test in Kolkata, sustained the injury during the match, and will be out of action for the final Test match, which starts on October 8, as a result.

In his absence, the All-India Senior Selection Committee has called up medium pacer Shardul Thakur to the squad.

Thakur is yet to debut for Team India. He was included in the four-match Test series in the West Indies earlier this year, but failed to feature in any of the matches.

India lead the three-match series 2-0 vs New Zealand.
