The ongoing stand-off in Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) as the AGM called by Amin Pathan group has been cancelled by the all-powerful Rajasthan State Sports Council, which has been handed over the charge of managing activities of the association by the Rajasthan HC.
The High Court on October 17, had appointed state sports secretary, who also is the President of the State Sports Council to manage the day-to-day affairs of RCA for three weeks.
The single judge also had issued notices to state government and 'self-appointed' RCA president Amin Pathan.
Despite the next date of hearing being November 14th, both the groups had called for an AGM.
The Modi faction had issued a notice for AGM before the "Coup" but Sports council had cancelled the meeting scheduled for November 1.
Now the AGM of Pathan Group scheduled for 9th November has also met the same fate proving that Pathan group too does not have any legal sanctity despite the fact it was somehow enjoying most of the RCA facilities till date.
The President of the Sports Council issued a letter dated November 7 and wrote that the RCA AGM scheduled for November 9 stands cancelled till further order.
Claiming that the call for an AGM by the Pathan group was "contempt of court", a Modi group official said that the cancellation also makes it clear that Pathan group was not enjoying any sanctity as was being claimed by them.
"The court had appointed State Sports Council to manage the affairs of RCA on October 17 and Pathan Group showed that they have issued notice of AGM, a day before on October 16.
"These letters were dispatched on 21st October which is clearly a case of contempt," said the official, who was also present, when both groups had a scuffle a few days back in the RCA office.
It might be recalled that the storm has been brewing up since Lalit Modi who was banned for life by the BCCI, became president of RCA in the election held in December last. Miffed BCCI had later suspended RCA and also had left it out of the domestic calendar.
In another major development, Amin Pathan, a former Lalit Modi loyalist had claimed that a resolution to impeach Modi was passed after 23 of the 33 districts voted against the former BCCI Vice-president and IPL commissioner.
Claiming that vice-president Amin Pathan has taken over as acting president his men had taken control of the RCA office.
Mahmood Abdi the Deputy President of RCA (Modi faction) and eleven others had filed writ petition demanding the ouster of Pathan group who had forcefully occupied the office of RCA with help of some goons and lower level police officials.
