Rawalpindi:
Pakistan fast bowler Shabbir Ahmed, who missed the first cricket one-dayer against India because of an injury on his left hand, is expected to play in the second match to be held here on Tuesday.
Shabbir suffered the injury during the conditioning camp in Lahore and was forced to remain out of action for nearly a week.
"He has recovered and we are hopeful that he will play the second match," team manager Haroon Rashid said.
If Shabbir, who returned to the Pakistan squad after correcting his suspect bowling action in Australia recently, passes the fitness test ahead of the second match, he is likely to replace Rana Naveed-ul Hasan.
Hasan took three wickets in Karachi but proved quite expensive.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan team had a light workout under lights at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium under the watchful eyes of coach Javed Miandad. (PTI)
