India are at the fifth spot after the end of Subdivision 3. So no medals for India today.

The women's team Artistic Gymnastics final is on. India are in Subdivision 3. This will also be the invidual qualification. In Subdivision 4, top teams like Australia, England, Canada, South Africa are playing. The final ranking will be decided aftr the end of Subdivision 4. 

It was a valiant fight but Putul Sonowal hs lost his frst match of the CWG 2026  to Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple 0-2 (4-8, 8-9). The Indian star made a good recovery after trailing 3-0 at the start of set 2 but it was not enough.

Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple won the first set 8-4 and took a 3-0 lead in the second set 3-0. However, Sonowal has made a great comeback to reduce the gap 3-2

There are three events in weightlifting (all medal events) where India will be competing. The events are Men's 60kg (Rishikanta Singh Chanambam), Women’s 48kg (Mirabai Chanu) and Men’s 65kg (Raja Muthupandi). The official starting list is yet to be updated on the official website, but all three are expected to partcipate. These all the three medal conetenders in weightlifting tomorrow. 

There is a bit of a break now. So let's analyse what are India's chances going ahead. While today there is one medal event remaining - artistic gymnastics event - there is a possibility of multiple medals on Sunday.

8:15 PM: Artistic Gymnastics - Pranati Nayak, Nishka Agarwal, Eshita Rewale, Protistha Samanta in subdivision three of women's team and individual rounds. (Medal event)

India lose 1-16 to Wales in their 3x3 Wheelchair Women's Pool Round Pool B. It was a complete domination by Wales. India also have Scotland and Nigeria in their pool.

Good news coming from lawn bowls, after a see-saw match which had India and Tonga enter the tie-breaker, Pinki Singh and Rupa Rani Tirkey hold their nerves to register a brilliant win in Women's Pairs Sectional Play - Section B, Round 3, Match 2. It is a hat-trick of wins for the duo. India won the first set 5-2, while the second set was won by Tonga 6-4. 

In men's 400m freestyle Heat 4, Aryan Nehra finishes 8th in a eight-man field. His time was 4:00.26. The timing is significantly slower than his qualification mark (3:55.54) and his national record (3:52.55). All other swimmers in his heat went below the 4-minute mark. Neither swimmer will enter final.

Disappointing news from the pool. Dhakshan Shashikumar has finished 7th among eight swimmers in Heat 3 with a timing of 3:58.09, which is slower that his CWG qualification mark (3:57.70). 

Next Dhakshan Shashikumar and Aryan Nehra will compete in men's 400m freestyle. Will they be able to enter the semi-finals?

Sachin has grown in confidence in final round. He goes for the hook against a desperate Keoma. The Canadian is trying hard but Sachin lands a punch. Sachin wins! It's a split decision. Sachin wins 4-1

The second round is on now. Keoma landed a few jab, but Sachin is in with a purpose. He lands a couple. Though he is cornered, Sachin opts for a flurry of punches. Sachin wins the second round too .

It is a decent start from Sachin. He has taen the inittiative but Koema is not intimidated. Sachin brings up his defence. The early attacks will forgive Sachin the advantage. Sachin leads Round 1 3-2.

Rupa Rani Tirky and Pinki will take on Tonga in Women's Pairs Sectional Play. After the second end of Set 2, it's 1-1.

India's lawn bowls contingent continued its impressive start with both entries registering victories in their respective sectional matches to strengthen their chances of progressing to the knockout stage. Women's pairs combination of Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh notched up their second successive win in Section B, defeating South Africa's Thabelo Muvhango and Jacqui Janse van Rensburg 2-0 (6-4, 7-5). The Indian duo had opened their campaign with a victory over Malta on Thursday.

In the men's singles, Putul Sonowal also maintained his unbeaten run by overcoming Falkland Islands' Cecil Alexander 2-1 in a closely-fought contest that was decided in a tie-break.

In boxing, Jadumani Singh registered a facile win against local favourite Aaron Cullen in the men's 55kg contest. Fighting in front of a partisan crowd, Jadumani was technically and tactically too strong for Cullen, beating the Scot by a unanimous decision to move to the pre-quarters, where he will take on Sumama Rehman of Pakistan.

India’s Jhandu Kumar secured a bronze medal in the men’s heavyweight para powerlifting event at the Commonwealth Games 2026, adding another medal to the country’s tally in Glasgow on Friday. Competing in a two-group field, Jhandu topped Group B with a best result of 130.9, comfortably finishing ahead of Uganda’s Dennis Mbaziira (114.1) and Australia’s Ben Wright (110.9) to advance into medal contention.

In the combined standings, however, Nigeria’s Riluwan Idris produced the best overall lift of 132.8 to clinch the gold medal, while England’s Matthew Harding claimed silver with 131.0. Jhandu’s effort of 130.9 was enough to secure the bronze medal, finishing just 0.1 behind Harding in a closely contested battle for silver.
