Commonwealth Games 2014 Glasgow Day 4 Highlights: Indian Shooters, Weightlifters Take Medal Tally to 22
After a fruitful Saturday, India started Day 4 of the 2014 Commonwealth Games at No. 5 in the standings. Shooter Shreyasi Singh gave the Indian contingent a great start on Day 5 by winning silver in the women's double trap event. Asab Mohd then gave Indian fans another moment of pride by winning the bronze medal in the men's double trap event. Weightlifting brought India some more joy as Satish Sivalingam and Ravi Katulu won gold and silver in the 77kg category. Punam Yadav of India also won bronze in 63kg women's weightlifting. India's shooters have left a telling impression on Commonwealth Games 2014 so far. While Abhinav Bindra's fourth Commonwealth Games gold remains a talking point at Barry Buddon Shooting Range, India's girls are not far behind. Indian shooters won five medals on Saturday. Apurvi Chandela and Rahi Sarnobat clinched individual gold while compatriots Ayonika Paul, Prakash Nanjappa and Anisa Sayyed got silvers. (CWG Day 3 Highlights | Medal Tally)
 Even after winning seven medals on Saturday, India (17 medals) dropped one place to fifth in the standings, as Canada (7-3-6) snatched the fourth slot by virtue of winning more gold. Australia (18-14-19), England (17-14-14) and hosts Scotland (11-6-8) occupy the first three places. India had finished second at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. (CWG Day 3 Wrap)
 Four shooters will be on show on Sunday. In double trap, Ankur Mittal and Mohammed Asab will vie for medal contention while Varsha Varman and Shreyashi Singh will be the ladies to watch.
India will expect medals from racquet sports. The men's table tennis team won their quarterfinal beating Scotland 3-0 and will now take on England in the semi-final today. Meanwhile Indian women, silver medallists four years ago at Delhi, lost their semifinal to Singapore 3-1 and will face Australia for the team bronze. Ashwini Ponappa, PV Sindhu and Parupalli Kashyap will be seen in action in mixed badminton semis.
 In the power events, Sumit Sangwan will feature in a 81 kg pre-quarterfinal bout while in weightlifting, K Ravi Kumar will be in action in the 77 kg class.

It's Day 1 of the track and field events. India will shot-putter Om Prakash Karhana in action Sprinter Sharadha Narayana and MR Poovamma will feature in the 100m and 400m heats, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Games' biggest draw Usain Bolt has arrived in Glasgow. He will be part of the Jamaican 4 x 100m relay quartet. Bolt, world record holder in both 100 and 200m as well as double Olympic and world champion, is recovering from injury and may just run the finals.
