Kolkata:
The All India Chess Federation today demanded a full-scale inquiry by a premier investigating agency into alleged 'misappropriation' of its funds by some office-bearers of its affiliated units.
"The General Body unanimously resolved to bring to the notice of the Union Minister for Home Affairs the activities of R K Singh, IPS, and his relative Dheeraj Raghuvanshi in trying to misappropriate AICF's funds," a resolution passed at the AICF AGM said here.
The resolution also alleged that Singh and Raghuvanshi, who contested the posts of president and secretary respectively in the aborted September 1 AGM of AICF, printed 'fake letterheads and stamps of AICF' and also wrote to the State Bank of Travancore, Calicut "falsely claiming that they were president and secretary respectively of AICF".
Raghuvanshi, who had then claimed that he was elected secretary unseating P T Ummer Koya, later filed an appeal in a Delhi court seeking an injunction on a Kerala High Court order directing holding of the AGM again today. The Delhi court, however, dismissed the appeal. (PTI)
