Indian trio reaches third round of German Open
It was a satisfying outing for Indian shuttlers with Chetan Anand, Anup Sridhar and Arvind Bhatt reaching the 3rd round of Yonex German Open men's singles.

Tournament second seed Anand defeated Kay Bin Yeoh of Malaysia, ninth-seed Bhat got the better of Kestutis Navickas of Lithuania and 15-seed Sridhar beat host country's Marcel Reuter in today's second round encounters.
Pawar, though, proved unlucky and despite winning the first game, he failed to carry on the momentum and went down 21-14, 14-21, 8-21 to fifth-seed Andrew Smith of England.
Although Anand was stretched by Yeoh in the first set, he gave his opponent no chance in the second, winning the encounter 23-21, 21-12, according to information received here.
He will next meet Denmark's Hans-Kristian Vittinghus who defeated compatriot Kasper Ipsen 21-11, 21-14.
The ninth-seeded Bhat took the first game 21-17 but then allowed Navickas to come back, losing the second 17-21. The decider went down to the wire before the Indian prevailed 23-21 to reach the third round where he will meet Smith.
Sridhar defeated Reuter 21-18, 21-13 and will take on Choong Hann Wong of Malaysia in the next round. The third-seed Wong beat Switzerland's Christian Boesiger 21-12, 21-10 in the second round.
