SCG Test: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul Plot India's Fight on Day 2
After Australia posted a mammoth 572/7d, opener KL Rahul and number three batsman Rohit Sharma put up a solid stand to take India to 71/1 at close of play on Day 2.

India suffered a horrid start after Australia declared on 572/7 as Mitchell Starc got rid of Murali Vijay for a duck in the first over. Starc was delighted and let Vijay know about it.
Rohit Sharma walked out at a new position - the No. 3 - and looked very good for his unbeaten 4o, which included three fours and two sixes.
Lokesh Rahul too was a bundle of nerves before he began to get his eye in and played some excellent text-book strokes to reach 31. Not once did he look like a 22-year-old in only his 2nd Test for India.
Earlier, Steve Smith continued from where he left off to notch up another century.
Shaun Marsh too showed good form for his knock of 73.
Rookie batsman Joe Burns hit 10 fours and scored his maiden Test fifty. He was dismissed for 58.
On the docile wicket at the SCG, Ryan Harris too freed his arms and got 25 off 11 balls as Australia declared on 572/7.
Mohammed Shami picked up a five-wicket haul, his second in Tests to finish with figures of 5/112.
