Sacramento:

Marion Jones withdrew from the 200 metres at the US track and field trials on Saturday, leaving the five-time Olympic medallist qualified only in the long jump for the Athens Games. Barring an unusual set of circumstances that alters the 100-metre field, Jones will not defend either of the Olympic sprint gold medals she won in Sydney four years ago. She finished fifth in the 100-metre finals a week ago. Jones won the long jump competition at the Olympic trials. By making the US team in that event, she automatically qualifies for all relays.
