H A Chinappa wins Kerala Marathon

Thiruvananthapuram:

H A Chinappa of Services won the Kerala Marathon 2005 in Thiruvananthapuram today. Chianppa took 2 hour, 28 minutes and 49 seconds to complete the race, bagging a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. The second and third places were also secured by athletes from the Services. Organised by the Kerala State Sports Council in association with the Athletic Federation of India, the marathon attracted a large response, and the participants were cheered throughout the 42 km route. Payolli Express P T Usha, who flagged off the marathon, was the star attraction at the event. Shiny Wilson, K M Beenamol and soccer player Jo Paul Ancheri were also present at the occasion.
