India's next assignment? The heated match against Pakistan. Despite all the political tension, the rivalry will resume on the cricket field on Sunday, September 14. Before that, Pakistan will take on Oman. India will gain a lot of confidence after their performance today.

Today's match between India and UAE is also the fourth-shortest completed T20I involving a full-member side. The entire match lasted just 106 deliveries, falling 13 balls short of the record of 93. Shows the extent of India's dominance today.

India chased down their target of 58 in just 4.3 overs, meaning they won with 93 balls to spare. That means that it is the second-largest victory in T20I history by balls remaining, involving a full-member side. Incredible feat.

India's previous record was winning with 81 balls remaining, against Scotland in 2021.

India's chinaman magician Kuldeep Yadav is named the 'Player of the Match' and it is fully deserved. It was his over that triggered the UAE collapse. 3 wickets in the 9th over, that saw UAE go from 48/2 to 50/5. The rest is history.

When Alishan Sharafu slammed a quickfire 22 opening the batting, few would've thought things would pan out like this. UAE lost their last 8 wickets in the space of 10 runs. Frankly, quite an extraordinary collapse. Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube, take a bow.

India have won the toss! After 15 consecutive tosses lost in international cricket, India have won the toss at last. Suryakumar Yadav opts to bowl against UAE. However, he does not address who is in the playing XI just yet!

India have three frontline spinners in their squad: Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy. If India go for a spin-heavy attack, there is a chance that all three may be featuring in the playing XI.

There has also been a lot of debate regarding the Indian middle order. Most experts have suggested that Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel's spots are safe, but the final position is up for grabs. Rinku Singh? Shivam Dube? Jitesh Sharma? We'll find out in a few more minutes.

We are around 15 minutes away from the scheduled toss time for the India-UAE Asia Cup clash. It will be interesting to see what the winning captain chooses. Suspense also continues to grow regarding India's playing XI combination.

The report by PTI further stated that Abhishek Sharma was the "highlight" of India's training session on Tuesday. The swashbuckling left-handed opener mesmerised everyone with his range of strokes, hitting 25-30 sixes in the space of an hour. Abhishek already has two T20I centuries, and his good form in the nets may have assured him of a place in the playing XI.

According to a report by PTI, Sanju Samson had an "indifferent" outing in the nets on Monday, and opted to not train on Tuesday. In his absence, Jitesh Sharma impressed, throwing further doubt on whether Samson will feature in the playing XI today.

Another big selection dilemma will be the composition of the bowling attack - Do India go with 2 frontline pacers or 3? Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh appear to be locked in, but if India go for a pace-heavy attack, then Harshit Rana may feature as well.

Ever since the T20 World Cup 2024 victory, Sanju Samson has been an undisputed starter for India. Samson has shone as an aggressive opener, smashing three international centuries in 2024. But now there's a doubt over his spot.

With Gill coming back, Samson suffering from injury problems in 2025, and Jitesh Sharma having an excellent IPL 2025, Samson's spot in the XI is no longer guaranteed. 

UAE have ended up as the hosts of the Asia Cup, but they face a massive challenge in order to qualify for the Super Four. Not only do they have to face India, but also Pakistan, who recently won a tri-series in emphatic fashion. 

Ranked 15th in the world, Muhammad Waseem and co. have their work cut out. But having made huge leaps in the world of cricket in recent years - specially after the ILT20 - they won't be pushovers.

But when it comes to a team as talented as India, there is always a huge selection dilemma. In this case, the biggest dilemma comes in the form of Shubman Gill, the team's vice-captain.

Gill's last T20I for India came more than a year ago. In that phase, India have been imperious in T20Is, with the likes of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma impressing. But will one of them make way for Gill today? A big call awaits head coach Gautam Gambhir.

India come into the Asia Cup 2025 as arguably the first favourites to win the tournament. India are the No. 1-ranked T20I team in the world, they are the defending T20 World Cup champions, and they've won 17 of their last 20 T20I matches.
