Mirabai Chanu

The 31-year-old athlete is a Tokyo Olympics silver medallist, a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist and a former world champion. It is worth noting that Mirabai is just the second Indian woman after PV Sindhu to clinch a second-spot finish in Olympics.

After clinching a silver medal in 2014, Mirabai won the two gold medals at CWG in 2018 and 2022. She will be among one of the medal contenders for India in the 2026 edition. Mirabai will be competing in the women's 48 kg event at CWG 2026.

She won a gold at the 2017 World Championships and bagged a silver each in 2022 and 2025.

Over the past decade, Mirabai has done some incredible work to help Indian weightlifting touch new heights. Her first international medal was a gold at the 2013 Commonwealth Championships at Penang. Since then, the athlete kept improving and eventually went to script history in Tokyo Olympics.

Mirabai was conferred with Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award, India's highest sporting honour, in 2018. The same year saw her receive the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award.
