And how do you think would two tennis legends, who are married to each other, celebrate the tenth anniversary of their respective victories at the French Open? Why, by playing tennis of course!
But it was all for a good cause in keeping with the philanthropists that both Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have become after their retirement. The 16 children they played with came from all over the world and were chosen by their two charities, the Agassi Foundation and Graf's Children for Tomorrow organisation.
Some of the children were also invited for a gala anniversary dinner together with former players including Sweden's Bjorn Borg, who won a record six Roland Garros titles. Graf also has six titles at the French Open, the last one in 1999, when Agassi won his only singles title in Paris.
In fact both players had been surprise champions in 1999. He had not won a Grand Slam title since 1995 and she since 1996. At the winners' ball that evening, they danced the traditional champions dance. The rest, as they say, is history!
"Ten years ago winning here gave a platform in my life to find two of the most important things in my world and to be able to nurture them and build them into something that fills my heart. One of them is my beautiful bride who I met here 10 years ago. The second of which is a platform that Roland Garros gave me to build a future for these children back home," Andre Agassi, the 8 time Grand Slam winner said.
Graf, who celebrates her 40th birthday on June 14 added: "To be able to give it back and make a difference in children's life and hopefully to be able to touch other people's life is a privilege."
From lighting up the courts with their magic to lighting up the lives of these thousands of children from across the world, Agassi and Graf couldn't have used these ten years better!
